Anyone seen the new North foils? I believe they have a range of Mid aspect foils on the way. Any pictures?
Haven't seen the foils but have seen the v2 wings and board. Wings are a totally new shape, longer strut, shorter wingspan, mini boom handles. Board is the same as the current seek with a simplified hull shape and chopped tail - very slight adjustments but definitely the right direction. What I've seen looks good and is priced very well.
Sorry don't know more about the foils, but seems like they are doing the right things.
Neat.
This is what we need to get people foiling and parents to buy their kids. A foil and a mast, the foil being one cast, way cheaper. You could even make it out of reinforced thermoplastics. Cheap.
It looks like "decathlon foil"

The 2022 North line is live now. Here are the foils: northkb.com/pages/sonar-foils
The wings and boards look amazing - particularly at the pricepoint. Unit style mini boom handles. I can't find fault in any of the changes. Im going to guess its all pretty heavy though.

New wing is just a unit/slick combo - bit of a shame, given it's no different to Dakine rebranded cabrina gear.
Boards have a good length/ volume except for the jump from 58-78L, big gap here. Boards are also quite wide, but to get in volume you need to expect this
Foils are a bit of a disappointing line up. 1080cm2 is the smallest in new mid aspect range. Nothing HA and again just looks like fanatic rebranded.
Overall boards look good, prone/wing board looks great, range is still good. If the new wing is cheaper than a duotone, that'd be nice arbitrage. Otherwise, I'd be skipping out on these foils.

Certainly not rebranded fanatic foils. The carbon Sonar foil is one of the best quality ones I have seen. Good value too.

About $50 cheaper than Duotone at any given size. Will be interesting to see the weight difference. Willing to bet the Duotone is a good bit lighter.

Wasn't the sonar 2021 range though?
What is new about the North foil range is the following:
- the Sonar foil carbon edition now comes with 70 cm fuselage and 3 new stabs (thinner, more high aspect, developed with Gunnar B inputs)
- the 1450HA and 1250HA and other wings are still compatible (the HA stab works better with the HA frontwings)
- The S01 stab is gone - that thing was ugly as f...
- what is also new is that a Sonar foil carbon edition complete with front wing now is costing more than 1600 EUR... this used to be around 1300 EUR (but it came with the short 60 cm fuse and old stab S01)
So overall.. good carbon foil (with 82 cm mast) for a price of 1600 EUR.. not bad considering similar foils from SABfoil are in 1800-2000 EUR range. North foil built quality is top notch. And still using m8 screws.
It would be good to see some proper review tests of the new Sonar carbon edition with 70cm fuse and new stab.
Tucker V waiting for your test video!
** by the way the North foils are developed by the people behind deltahydrofoil.com/
The 70 cm fuse was available last year and the 60 cm one is available now, 2 options not a replacement.

But you had to buy the 70 separately. It didn't come with the edition sets as a standard. Only the 60 was standard included.

At least.. that's how the editions were sold in European web shops. Maybe elsewhere the 70 was sold as standard..?
Im going to guess its all pretty heavy though.
The 5m weighs 7.4 lbs!!!
Anyone have any experience with the new MAs or HAs? Looks like an appealing package. You can get a kit + extra front wing for roughly the same price of an Armstrong kit
