I was lucky enough to receive the first of the ALL-NEW Jimmy Lewis Flying VM Foil boards off the production line this week & have already had a couple of great sessions including an epic downwind run yesterday....I got the 5'8" x 27" because i want to use it as my Sup Foil board as well...It's super stable & easy to kneel on when getting started (I'm 80kg & 6'1") & pumps up onto the foil with ease....Of course when it's 20 plus knots anything is easy to get up on...I'm only using the Armstrong 4.5m wing in all conditions & usually use either my GoFoil GL180 or 210 depending on the conditions....
Yesterday's downwinder was 20-22knots with 25kn gusts & I only needed to pump once & I was up & flying...With the concaved hull up under the nose there was no catching when carving turns or doing jibes....The board is lightweight & strong as are all of Jimmy's boards...
I asked for just a Tuttle box mount as I don't use track mounts but all the production boards will come with both...The footstrap inserts are designed for those who go switch stance (which I don't) & allow for 2 straps to be mounted... I only use a footstrap for Wing Dinging but not for sup wave foiling or downwinding (I like to be able to move my feet around) & even with the footstrap in this position I found I was in the strap the whole time while I was downwinding with my Wing Ding....I'm pretty sure the board can be ordered with the same footstrap inserts as the normal Flying V so just talk to Rod from JL Australia...
I got a top speed of 121km yesterday which must have been how fast my arm went when I flew over the handlebars in a strong gust... And no I didn't leave it running in the car :)
Sizes available-4'8",5'0",5'4",5'8"

Again a top effort and knowing your skills and knowledge on gear a good recommendation.
I am always a fan of Jimmy Lewis and still have my 8 5 Striker SUP and kite surfboard.

Hi Rob,
How are you enjoying the board as a wingboard. If you didn't use it as a sup would you go smaller? Are there any changes you would make for the next one? Cheers

Hi robg1703,
What Garmin app are you using???

I use "track me".that's the only one I can get to work.

Tracking - Rob any sessions as a SUP? I was thining the same, on a 6'5" Flying-V, love it, but definitely feel like I could go smaller. I'm still just kiting, not into winging yet, but it's probably only a matter of time. I'm in smallish east coast US waves (knee to chest) so......it would interesting if that board would be SUP-able in smallish waves.

I'll probably just drop down to the 5'11".

Hi adamj, I've been riding my Flying VM for a few months now & we haven't had much wind for "wing dinging" because it's winter & wave season but it's become my go-to board for most of my small to medium sup foil sessions...It's just as stable & easy to paddle as my 5'11' Flying V but has less yawing with the hull bottom...
It's a great all-round board...
