Had a look at the new Cabrinha wing and it looks good this is a 5m with out using it or seeing it in action and my lack of knowledge On the Froth scale about a 8.5/10

It's great to see the big brands innovating and trying something else. I like those long handles but apparently they move back and forth...

Also one of the few resisting windows

First wing with a built-in camber inducer (the first and second middle strut take the form of a camber inducer found in windsurfing race sails). It should add to stability, especially at the top end of its wind range. I like the idea of the mini booms -- should make switching hands faster and easier.

6 psi in the main strut and 11 psi in the two middle struts -- a little more effort to pump it up.

Got to see the Crosswing 2 down at the beach today.
Flys very stable on the front handle and looks to be well built as you'd expect from Cabrinha. I like the small pack down and canopy tension from the double struts. I'm sure it will work great for wave riding and downWinging. Good to see new innovation in wing design to mix it up with the doutone boom versus handles debate.

i have been out riding with the 5 yesterday. Wind was plenty. It really is a big step forward for Cabrinha. This new wing is really up to par with anything else in the marketplace.

This wing stands out on how well it flies in neutral. It really hovers , better than anything i have tried so far. Beyond that low end power is really good and it is surprisingly stiff with only 6.5 psi. The power seems to be a bit more forward compared to what I am used to due to the profile of the canopy and strut design.

The handles are quite nice. It's a different take on how to hold your wing. I mist admit I miss the Y handles as I really got used to those.

Any feel for the top end ? Usually when a wing / kite / sail has very good low end there's a trade off at the top end range ( and vice versa). But maybe the double strut design adds top end as well , due to locking in the draft better?

Don't the centre struts take 11 psi?

Demoed a 6 metre a few days ago -- I liked the handles and the wing's ability to get me on foil in light winds (good power). I found that it backwinded during gusts more than other wings I've used. I also had problems with packing it down after use -- the bag is large but it's still hard to fit the wing in the bag.

I,m a novice and tried one from a friend for a few runs and can only compare to the Duotone echo. Stays very calm on the water without flipping over. When pulling the wing over my head I missed a handle between the front strut and the big handle. When planing It is nice and stable but I didnt like the back/forth movement of the handles and I couldnt trim it in a gust as well as the Echo. This can be my lack of skills, but in the Duotone I found it easier to kill the power.
On a bump in neutral it follows way better as the Echo that has the tendency to roll.
So far I think I prefer my echo

I've had the 6 for about a month now. Still waiting on a 4.

I previously owned a Wasp and a Gong Superpower.

It's very stiff and powerful at the low end. It gets upwind very nicely. the handles make it easy to find the perfect position...I don't really mind the side to side movement, it is very minor.

As far as the top end. I'm absolutely jonesing for a 4 because it has been smoking lately but I did do a downwind on the 6m the other day that was 20-25 knots. It wasn't ideal but it could handle it safely and I'm no pro. That's been a surprise for me overall during a nice windy spell.

One criticism...wtf were they thinking with the leash attachment point? When it gets really blowy it starts to do the old Duotone "angry bird" routine. I'm going to attach to the depower handle for a while and see how that goes.

Really happy with mine and I've made more progress this last month than in the last 12.

Good to hear Clamsmasha. I've got the 6meter too. But yet to try it. Hopefully soon.
I was out in a little lagoon today that gets quite shallow as the tide drops and only gives me runs of about 150 meters. I was using a Naish V1 4meter on 96 litre 26 wide JP. Quite happy that I was balancing on it in flatwater. Wind was around 12 knots & gusting to around 15 knots. But still cannot get up on my XL Neilpryde foil that's around 2000cm. As soon as the my board nose faced up it felt like everything stalled including the wind & back to scratch. But that was Ok as I wanted to get a better feel for both board & wingsail.
So hoping my next sessions on the Cabrinha 6M wing will make a difference.
So at this stage wondering how many less knots of wind would the Cabrinha x2 get you up on foil compared to the Naish V1. I'm hoping it's 5 knots less or more for me weighing around 80kgs. That is if someone around 80kgs can just get up in 20knot wind with a 4 meter V1 Naish, then hoping the Cabrinha V2 will do the same in around 15 knots or less.

I've been using my 7.0 v2 and it's so nice I'm happily foiling in 10kts and I'm 112kg probably half a dozen seshes on it so far. A small window would be nice and super happy with the big handles

I think you'll like it Seajuice. I wasted all of my first season on a 4m. I felt I needed 18kts to really have fun it didn't line up very often. The second gen wings all seem a bit stiffer and more powerful, the Cabrinha is a great example...

I'm 80-85kg, I'm on a 5'2 homemade board and I'm riding a modified Gofoil GL210 in light conditions and a GL120 when it's awwwnn. Also an old Kai wing whenever I feel like some strange.

I'm a bit of a sad case and can't switch so almost all my launches are toeside.. I'm finding can get the 210 up at around 12kts toeside and a bit less heelside. Can fly happily at less than that. The GL120 probably needs 15 to 18 at this stage but I'm getting it a bit more wired as I go.

I found that my small light board, though it throws up the odd challenge gets up in less wind than my old one too.

PS I put the leash on the depower handle and it was good, not a very windy day though...

Thanks guys. Looking forward to my next sessions on the Cabrinha. I'm hangin to get up & riding on foil. Once there then I should be able to wingding my choppy lake & hoping to get onto some ocean swell.
