Hasanyone tried light wind winging or dockstarts using the new Armie CF2050v2 front wing? I want to learn the dock start, but also want a light wind front foil that won't be too slow. I already wing on smaller HA/HS front and rear wings. I can't tell if the new CF design will be less plagued by low top speed and extra drag than the first version. Is it only a beginner wing? For what I want to learn, would the HS1850 be a better choice?

I dock start with the HS 1850, 72cm mast, 60 cm fuse and 232 tail (1 red shim). I'm 72kgs. I haven't tried the CF 2050v2 but I can pump the 1850 till my legs give out so don't see any need to go bigger. The 1850 is a very forgiving, stable foil. The top end speed is definitely limited (while winging) but this isn't an issue for dock starts. Perhaps I'd be able to pump a more efficient wing for longer. The 1325 or 1525 would likely fit that bill but not sure if the 2050v2 is going to be more efficient than the 1850.

I tried the CF2050 last weekend.
The foil is very easy to control and get up in like nothing.

It is a perfect light wind foil. From speed, it feels that it can go fast. Even though I'm not used to it, I got nearly the same speed as on my other foils, and the wind was light.

Also, friends of mine who also tested the foil, come to the same conclusion. (compared to me they are heavy riders)

I don't know how it will work for dock starts, I guess it won't be the best there as it is a mid-aspect foil. but it is definitely a light wind weapon.
