....Anyone running Axis foil setups with the Naish S25 (orange colour) Ultra Carbon boards (eg 110 litre) care to feed back if the "geometry" / setup is compatible?

I notice Robby Naish rides with his rear foot way behind the mast. While Axis guys tend to be over the mast, to in front of the mast. Likely a less than perfectly compatible setup.

Robby Naish, being Robby Naish, probably is not riding the 110L size board and likely can place his feet most any place on the board and still manage to foil.

I had the S25 110L. Great board, now winging on the S26 95L. While I used the Naish foils, the boards have the standard track and should work fine with the Axis foil. I ride with my rear foot over the mast. Other locals with S25/S26 boards generally ride with their rear foot over the mast or in front of the mast.

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, the Naish boards are quite common at the winging spots. I've seen many foil brand attached to the boards, and all owners I've personally talk to all have highly praise their Naish boards.

I had a horrendous time as a beginner using an Axis foil setup with my Naish 135 5-7 litre inflatable.

I ran the mast as far back as it would go, plus up to 3 washer-shims in the rear and still had the front wing trying to smack me in the face on every outing.

What solved it was drilling out the threaded mast holes on the Axis mast base, so gaining an extra inch rearward. It still came up pretty hard without shims but 3 washer shims calmed it down.

So, yes, the forward placement of the Naish track boxes creates serious issues for beginners with some other manufacturers' foil setups. They may be more manageable for experienced riders.

Except OP was asking about s25 carbon etc
I've used naish s25 boards exclusively since 9/19... with NP axis gofoil takuma back on axis no worries with mast position middle to back placement
Used original 125 95 110 back on the newer 125 pointy nose
Use a front foot strap in front position no worries on all boards

So.you're experienced, then, and have no issues, as I said. And Naish have moved the boxes back this year 'to improve compatibility with foils from other manufacturers.'
So.

Why didn't you just move your feet forward?

I did try moving my feet forward and had to add more deck grip to allow that because the stock amount was nowhere near enough. It didn't help because the difference between sinking the nose and it launching skyward became too fine a line. An experienced friend tried it and complained of the same behaviour.
The solution was drilling the mast base, moving it back and shimming the stabiliser. The foil then moved smoothly out of the water and became a pleasure to ride.

three washers on the rear end will create lift on a foil, not call it down no? It increases tha angle of attack on the front wing.

That's correct for an Axis stabiliser when putting them on the rear screw. I was putting them on the front screw which reduces the angle of incidence, flattening the stab and reducing lift.

I'm certainly no expert, but seems to me, less angle difference between fouls means wider overall windrange.
Extreme differences shorten the wind range, if the wind varies much.
