I just ordered a tall 95cm Naish 2S6 mast which is compatible with my S26 fuselage. I didn't buy the new S27 because that would have required me to buy the new fuselage. Should I have invested in the new system? What are the pros of the new system?
I believe they are more stiff , more robust and will also fit the latest wings (not yet available) which have the fuse integrated into the wing.(like the cabrinha H and the Lifts.) A seriously stiff carbon mast. Quite expensive though.
Whilst the S26 Mast to Fuse join is excellent the new S27 join is an impressive step stiffer again. There is always tolerances with connections, but in most cases you can nearly use the S27 without bolts it fits so snug. The actual lay up of the composite masts is no different to S26, so any changes in stiffness you may feel are due to the join not the actual mast. Like wise with the C35 which is a great cost effective option staying composite. The new S27 Alloy mast is very impressive. Super light weight, a completely new extrusion with a stiffness to give the C100 a serious run for its money (read my other response for a detailed comparison between the two).
All foils going forwards will be compatible with the new S27 Mast and fuse join. All front wings since 2017/Malolo are compatible with all fuselages and the the Malolo and Jet rear wings are all compatible.

GUYS AND GIRLS DO NOT PURCHASE THE NEW NAISH ALUMINUM MAST 2021/2022. My HA1800 wing tore the "glue welded" coupling along with the screws and part of the thread mounts at the base. Praying my warranty claim goes through. I was a good half mile offshore when it decided to leave me. The glue is obviously no substitute for weld and I also hear the carbon mast fuse mount coupling is also "just bonded" . I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE HA1800 epic wing mounted on a piece of **** unfortunately. Wont be going back to naish EVER! I practically do demolition work in the surf with my cabrinha hirise varial setup and it just wants more abuse. Wtf NAISH!
so my 1800ha wing, fuse and stab are swirling around cape cod somewhere on the bottom of the sea. Obviously I had too much fun and life had to slap me back down to earth.
I bought a new duotone spirit surf 1500carbon the next day but DAMN. Do I miss those extra 300sq cm on lighter days
NAISH NAISH, I GOT A RASH!!!!

Hey FDC,
bummer to hear you've had a bad experience. Before you go tearing into the brand, I think you'll find the warranty will cover you and get you back on the water ASAP. The 1800 is an awesome foil, and I hope we can regain your trust and business moving forwards. as always, the forums and social media are not the best avenues for resolving any issues you might have, definitely not with Naish anyway. We are pro active and back up the brand 100%.
Not knowing your actual details I don't know if we've seen this warranty yet, but assuming your dealer has submitted it immediately we'll have an answer to you next business day when possible.
I am not sure why you chose the public forum as your first port of call, but I hope we have you sorted swiftly. Feel free to Reply to my DM me if you wish to discuss further.

I don't mean to bash or "dig into" a brand here. But you cannot blame me for being a tad miffed Do not get me wrong, the ha1800 is a progressive MACHINE! I was hitting 7mph of breeze with a 6m wing and it was heaven I was in Cloud City! It was four days old...
In respect to this ENTIRE situation, this is very much a first world problem. In my mind, I already ate $1200 dollars and immediately showed up the next day and spent just the same about on a new wing. I am just happy I'm safe. Hopefully this does not happen to anyone else. A through bolt maybe?? Not my place...
The warranty is hopeful, your direct message gives me some hope here. I was very frustrated when I posted publicly. hence I did t know this was an Australian forum ???????
And YEA, Mr. Naish, I do have a rash on my fingers from counting out thousands upon thousands of dollars at the dealer on Naish gear. The Naish hover 75L is excellent as far as boards are concerned it airs pretty decent and take offs have become subconcious almost and THAT is only going higher into the clouds I love the board. A true quality product that's taken the brazen brunt of the beating my commercial lobster fishermans body has put to it, had it a good year. And THAT is why Im so torn apart because I think quality when I think Naish. Maybe I'm just a freak. I only put 47 sessions in over the last month. My 1800ha was less than a week old and we got to knowing one another very quickly. It was gone just as fast on session number 6. And that is just about all I have to say about that. Can't delete forum posts here I guess? Land of the Thunderdome. I kinda like that
I'm sure the right things will be done here. No faith lost just a dirty sailors worth of frustration. And this is me being "contained" cheers and again, no disrespect meant.
Naish warranty claim approved. We'll see how this ship holds together. Was clipping just about 30mph when we departed the first time. Thank you for doing the right thing. And immense props for the direct message from Naish Australia. Seems like showing your mail to my dealer sped things up? Not sure but it's all good now.
mahalo and happy carves!
It's always been my experience over many years that Naish stands by their products.
It's also great that the Australian Naish rep JB follows up any issues that come through this forum as well as contributing plenty of good content as well ![]()
So S26 or New new S27? It's a known issue on the 26.
if it's the 27 the whole world would be interested to know. If it's the 26 see if you can trade up to 27, looks better. Maybe see if they'll take the discounted price of the replacement s26 stuff off season 27 cheap carbon mast and fuse.
S26 mast corroded along length after 3 months, after 5 months still waiting (UK) for replacement. Meanwhile told can still use ally mast, then it broke off base, and I can see the flimsy method of attachment. Recently board deck collapsed along 18" where it meets rail (looks like a deck collapse on well-used windsurfer) and after 2 weeks waiting for warranty response. Carbon foils and wing well made, but half the Naish gear I bought broke within 8 months. Shop chasing up but Naish struggling. Naish need to explain design, testing, quality control and warranty improvements. I know 2 others who use Naish and one just broke his third mast ( end and foils fell off in sea).

Stoked you've had a response and are getting sorted out. It is never good when something breaks, but it does happen. I know you'll enjoy having your trusty 1800 back under your feet.

We noticed a few issues mainly in S25, and early S26 with the alloy base cup. The later shipments seems to be much better after some inline modifications. Always a possibility to look at an upgrade if your dealer has stock. There would definitely be a cost involved for this, but it may reasonable if you're wanting to move onto the new mast to fuse system.
Always progressing and always adapting.

Hey Patronus,
This does not sound right. And by the sounds of the lead times something has broken down here. Naish respond very quickly and I imagine the importer should have made a call even if there is a delay, especially is the bottom cup has deployed. I am doubting the delay is Naish International. I will reach out to Naish now see if we can link the ends.
Sorry for your bad experience, I hope we can get you sorted quickly from here on in.
Thanks for choosing Naish, look forward to getting you back on the water.

Awesome. Good to hear ????.
I have used the s26/95 mast for about a year and never had issues, it looks super strong. I noticed if not tied very firmly the fuse screws might tend to loosen up a bit after a long session. My Micro131 board has been used 72 times, done over 2000kms with it with plenty of crashes and it hardly has a dent. All other components I have had (alloy 2018 mast/ fuses, jet wings etc.) never failed with the exception of the abracadabra mount that was splitting at the edges, probably because I was using a big wing for windsurf foiling.
I am a bit disappointed that the new mast and fuses are not compatible with the S26, I would like to get the new long fuse for windfoiling, but its not reasonable to have to buy also a new mast, which is very expensive.
S26 masts are not good, I am afraid. Get rid of them guys. Here is a picture of my 75 Alu mast that fell apart in my hands while I was doing a routine equipment check. I am very fortunate it did not happen 2 km off the Irish coast. This mast was used for riding only (no jumps), and I am (only) 75 kg, so no stress for this mast. It looks like a design issue. The screw connections are very weak. Mine broke after 50 3 hour sessions.
I will write a separate post on Naish and my experience with it (good and bad) but for now, if you have a S26 mast - replace it while you can.
Ah... I am new to the forum and cannot post images yet.

In Germany Naish offers a generel free replacement for all S26 aluminium masts. I'm happy with my new S27. As always has NAISH offered a perfect service. Thx

You are quite right, they do.
However, I bought two S26 mast+fuse pairs from two different dealers. One of them sent me a new S27 mast+fuse replacement. The other dealer replaced the mast with the same S26 mast. Better than kick in the teeth I guess but I will check with Naish directly.

There has never been a recall on any S26 masts. We/Australia chose to only stock the C35 as the base option for our Complete foils.
As for a S27 option in the unlikely event of a failure, this would only be offered if the mast required was not available in the same model (i.e. we have sold out of S26 C35/85cm).
To be clear, the S25 is the only mast that we took the initiative to replace/recall. S26 season while there was a few instances which all got handled immediately, all warranties were sorted with a like/same product. If a customer would like to upgrade during a replacement there is costs involved and obviously a fuselage would also be required in the instance of moving up to S27.
There is no reason to expect any issues with your S26 masts.
Please feel free to contact me if you need to discuss this any further or need further clarity.

Hi JB
Thank you for offering your assistance. I will send the details and the images via private message.
Hi all. I have several Naish foils (MA1000, MA1200, Mach 1 1100, HA1400). Masts C35 s26 and s27 85 cm. I received C35 s27 in exchange under warranty for an aluminum s26 75 cm bent at the base. I like Naish foils, but the manufacturing is not always of high quality. Exchange under warranty in Israel is problematic (long time and lack of parts in stock), plus it is not always possible to obtain technical information about foils. I noticed that the mounting plate for my C35 s26 mast to the board is not level. S27 is absolutely flat, and s26 is convex, and when I attach it to the board, there is a gap of 2-3 millimeters on one side. When the bolts are tightened the gap disappears, but this puts pressure on the board (it bends a little under pressure) and I don't think that's a good thing. I asked a local store about this, but they couldn't tell me what to do about it and advised me to write to Naish. I wrote an email to Nash, but there has been no response for a month. Has anyone had similar problems with Naish masts?
