Anyone ridden the new Naish Neutron yet?
What are your thoughts regarding stiffness, upwind, wind range, quality of materials etc..
Thanks in advance!
Hi, I've 'tested' the 4m Neutron, Naish along with other brands were attending an open day at our local reservoir.
(Currently I have Naish ADX 5m And GONG Neutra UpeX 4m)
Wind was very light, others were out on 5m and 6m. Naish only had the one 4m demo wing on that day.
Ok....me 73kg, on 5'8 82 litre board, F one 1100SS Foil.
After not too much pumping I got on foil, impressive.
The Neutra felt great, very light, I liked the narrow boom diameter and the boom to centre strut fixing felt solid no flexing. Wing went upwind really well, and tacks were easy with very little drag from the narrow front tube.
Could not test wind range as wind was very light all day.
Back on land. Wing feels light, front tube average to narrow diameter but feels stiff when bending the tips inwards. Canopy fairly full at front and taut across whole canopy. Build quality excellent, up with the best, felt stronger than equivalent GONG.
I hear that the 'top end' is good, not spectacular, but definitely acceptable.
Definitely a good choice to replace my 5m ADX, only downside both the grey, and red options, I think look a bit 'dull'!
Thanks for the feedback mate.
I'm currently running a 8 Loft Pro and 6m & 4m Slick SLS's. The 6 is my most used wing and is getting towards the end of its life.
My sessions focus around getting up wind and catching swell.
I want something that is good up wind, flags ok, as stiff as my Slick SLS and a bit of a boost in all-round performance over the Slick.
Good day.
I rejected the Neutron 5.0 after three sessions, horribly flappy leech. At the lower end not so bad but some intermittent leech action at the wingtip down to the first baton, once the wind hits 15 mph+ all hell breaks loose. I don't know if my wing is a dud, still trying to work things out with Naish. Quality is average, some poor finishing in parts and off line stitching. Again, maybe I was unlucky.
Seen the vid, part of reason I decided to buy, blind. But this is a 4, from my understanding the 4 metre and down don't have the issues of my 5.0..
The Neutron tacks well, has good low end, the booms excellent and fixture sensible. But that's it. Super flappy in moderate + winds in my case.
Magazines aren't always a reliable indicator imo. I learnt my lesson. Please try before you buy.
I have had one ride of the 5m Neutron. I was in 18-22 knots of wind on a 60l board with an 840 foil. I'm 85kg wet. This was probably the mid-range winds for this wing and my level. I experienced the opposite of Moosh above and didn't note any excessive flap in the wingtip etc. I did inflate the wing to its highest recommended pressure in both the LE and the strut however. I found the canopy tension exceptional. This wing separates the two and there is no 'one pump' system. I need more time on this wing to review in full but I can say that it is a very well balanced wing compared to my previous DT Units. Flagging was nice and the wing didn't flip over on me like the unit did. Low end was comparative to my 2024 Unit 5.5m but the pump cadence to get on-foil was completely different to the Unit. I got the best out of it with a very fast pump compared to the Units slower, deeper pump. This is my first wing with a boom. I'm not looking for the handle anymore which was nice for a change. The boom connection was simple, strong and effective and holds everything together well. The boom grip is forgiving on the hands. The flag handle is a standout for me though. Very sturdy and effective in controlling the wing when flagged. The 24' Unit was terrible. I could pistol grip the boom as well which was also comfortable. I don't miss the canopy windows at all and appreciate the weight saving. I was surprised the boom wasn't extra $$ and it also comes with a high-quality Naish leash. Quality in general was to typical Naish standards which I find is an industry benchmark imo. No inflate adapters are necessary as it uses the universal SUP valve. Looking forward to another ride in stronger winds to check the high-end.
Good day.

Hey Moosh,
Very surprised to read your comment. This is far from every feedback I have received on the Neutron so far. It really is an amazing wing. I would be interested to know more and hopefully help. Please DM and lets discuss.

JB
You're welcome Windgenuity! And thanks for the offer to help. I don't want to comment further as I'm trying to sort this out with Naish in the UK. Hopefully this is a one off. If you'd like to contact me personally and not publicly, I'd be happy to talk some more..?
A talented local rider seems really impressed with his 5m neutron. Quality looks great, it seems very stable and he said it tacks like a dream. The bastard was also up in low wind while the rest of us were just floating around, but I'm not going to credit the neutron for that. ![]()
Thanks for the feedback. I've never had any real problems with the Naish gear I've had, it always lasted and performed to my expectations. Never had any of their wings though.
There are few wings I'm interested in that are soon to be released, including the ADX, so will sit tight for a bit.

Crakas.....you won't be disappointed with the ADX.
I have a 2024 4m ADX plus a 5m and 6m ADX NVision. Solid wings with plenty of grunt that behave well. I tried the 2025 model with the bar rather than handles and it very good as well. First time with the bar and no matter where I reached during transitions, I grabbed something.

Is there a structural problem with it? Seems a bit off from what i and others have experienced.
Yes, and hopefully a one off. No more comments. Matt has been very helpful, I'm sure he'd be happy to answer any questions you have.
Hey!!
i got to try it last week and had a blast. Made a video about it in case someone wants to see. ![]()
I was very lucky to receive mine on the Thursday of a weekend that seemed to bring all the wind missing from our winter here in Central Queensland - it got a real workout straight out of the box. I love it!
Previous wing 5M 2024 ADX, prior Armstrong V2 A-Wing 5.5M. 45L, 85kg.
I do find that I agree with the flapping of the leech, in a sub 15 knot session my 5M was a dream, but above the 15 knots became quite loud - I am inflating to the lower end of the recommended pressure though so this may be to blame.
Booms are what have been missing from winging, grab anywhere through manoeuvres makes it so easy (best wing Ive ever tacked) and riding single hand is my new favourite thing bar riding waves.
Which brings to flagging out, very impressed at how stable the wing is, stood on the beach and held it by the leash rope and it floated. no sway. I think it has a bit more belly so in wind swell like im in it seems to need a bit more speed to stay behind (upwind of rider). But once i worked that out its really nice on the wave.
I dont think it has anything amazing upwind but thats something you are going to sacrifice with a wing like this.
In terms of this low end, like any wing it will take time to dial in the pump and where it fills up best - so far i think it is more spinnaker: like a little bit more downwind angle to fill up and pump out of the hole.
I really like it. Quality is of any Naish sail manufacturing. Leash is one of the best. Boom is stiff. Not heavy. Gives me a sort of nostalgic feeling of my Armstrong wing which also had no dihedral and flagged behind great, didnt even flip over while i was scrambling back onto my board aha.
Spent some time with the Naish Neutron, interesting to read here the comments on the flapping. This seems to only afflict the 5m, I got to test the 5m and the 4m and also talk to the designer of the wing (about the 5m and the flapping - which will be addressed in the spring release of the Neutron) ...
