Hi, just about to buy my first board and tossing up between the Naish Hover Wing 125 and the Fanatic Sky Wing 6' - with their corresponding 2000 foils.
I'm 85kg and have just purchased a Duotone Echo 6m. Currently getting some practice in on my SUP.
Would appreciate people's thoughts.
Thanks
Drew
im a beginner @ 90kg and got a Naish 2021 110 with the 2021 2000cm foil - super good combo.
The Fanatic shape also looks good but i have read/heard the boards feel heavier than their Naish equiv - not sure that effects performance though.
I also beleive the new Naish foils are about as good as you can get with maybe the exception of Armstrong (and i wanted a foil + board package from the same manufacturer to learn with, after fiddling around on my windsurf foil set up (board and foil of different brands) for ages. The new foil feels very stiff and light....noticeably lighter than the 2020 version....and waaaay more refined and lighter than the S/S.
To be fair, when i was ordering my board at the end of August Fanatic only had the SUP boards in the larger vol (with no under handle) so it was a no brainer to opt for Naish. Now there is Fanatic, Naish and Quatro in those sizes + many others (Smik) in the mix. But i dont regret my Naish choice at all...id maybe get the one that your local dealer can get hold off.
Both are too long and too much volume, try go one step down at least.
I'm 79Kg and I am using the Hoverwing 5"10/110L but I could have well jumped straight to the 5"7/95L except I wanted to use the 5"10 for SUPfoiling.
Alysum.. hey man..im 98kgs and riding a 6'6 x 106L foil board for wing and sup foil. Looking to drop in length but kept stability . I want to use the naish for both wing and sup foiling. How do you find the 5'10 for stability given its beveled rails. How is good as both a wing and foil board..paddling into waves. Plan to use Armstrong 2400 set and have the 5.5m wing. Done plant if sup and foiling..just starting my wing journey but enjoying it.
Cheers man
I have the Naish 125 hover & the fanatic 106L - both are great boards.
I would say the naish is lighter & far more stable...
My vote is for the naish..
Hi Drew
Just relating to you my personal experience.I'm 73kg (raw) but with wet suit and all most likely closer to 80kg.
Started with a Naish Hoover 125 to learn on which was great with no issues at all.Changed down to a Naish 95lt..Ultra
Carbon which was very challenging to get going in low wind as it was really light and VERY unstable for me.
In strong wind, trying to stand up for a knee start was hell. Changed back to a Fanatic 5 ft.8. 110 litres. Which
instantly restored the joy of foiling as it gave me that extra one second of stability to get up and foil.
The design of both makers are quite different. Fanatic have a hollowed deck and the rails are thicker with more
floatation on the edge = more stable. Do not underestimate the stability for the knee start. Once the wind picks up
and the water gets rough, it's a major consideration.
Happy foiling

I have not used it much for SUP foiling.
It is obviously very unstable if you have no prior experience with SUPing on short boards. At your weight you will find it challenging.
You'll need a compromise between the 2 sports or go for a 2 board quiver.
The current Naish hover wing is a lot lighter than the fanatic boards because they are full carbon. Surprisingly light for their size.
The fanatic are much heavier but I have not used one so I cannot comment on them.
I still recommend to go shorter than 6" for wing.
We'll be seeing lots of 5"0 boards coming out soon.
Cheets man..
I can see it will be problematic trying to find one board to go between both winging and foiling...but then again so is funding two boards![]()
Maybe the 6'4 x 125 L hover maybe be more suited for my weight. Anyone has experience sup foiling and winging with this board around my weight 95-98kgs
