Hi,I'm interested to see if anyone has tried the naish 2140,I'm no light weight ,riding an old 2000 naish, wondering whether the slight upgrade is worth it.I'm no great wingdinger or SUP foiler, just lazy and want heaps of lift.I don't sup large waves just a cruiser thanks for any info and your time.
It's an awesome foil.. Early lift.. No draggy feel.. and great top speed.. If I only had one foil the HA 2140 would be it.
I'm 80 kg's and own both foils. Compared to the 2000, the 2140 is definitely faster and the glide is amazing, my longest gliding foil to date. As for getting up on foil, it's a tie, maybe the edge goes to the 2140. I've taking them both out side by side. The 2000 has the higher lift profile and likes more of a pump and bounce to come up. The 2140 is best kept level which is the case w many HA's. Turning obviously goes to the 2000. For a big foil you can crank it pretty hard in a turn. The 2140 is fine but if you crank it too hard, the very flat profile can slip on you. I don't use my 2000 much anymore but when I teach someone it's my go too as it's plug and play. One last note on the 2140, it's a very sensitive foil. Because of it's flatter more effective foil area, it feels everything, it can actually feel nervous as it feels every little bump on the water. It's a glider for sure.
Bought it for trying to learn dockstarts this summer and can highly recommend wing. It is not really a high aspect, but a very well balanced mid-to-high aspect wing, which makes it extremely versatile (surf, wing, sup) for the weight impaired like myself (215lbs).
Just make sure you thouroughly inspect the wing once you get it. Either I was very unlucky or the quality control at the factory is poor on this one and/or the glossy finish is really hard to do. Had to send back the first due to a huge crack close to the right wing tip. The second one I received had a bad glossy finish, and a small crack at the wing tip (basically only a visual problem), but enough to make me call the dealer.
As I was going on vacation, I had to go for it, but Mackiteboarding in the US were phenomenal on making it right, and gave me a discount on the second wing.
