Thanks to great guys at Boardcrazy QLD (Simon), I finally got a proper set of foil for a good price. Was really anxious about my new foil being 6kg+ as that was what I was reading .. so I put mine together on my digital kitchen scale (calibrated against my trusty bag of 5kg jasmine rice hhhhh) .. and its 4.8kg all in. Its not 'all carbon' light but surely not an anvil for a 1650 alu mast setup.

65cm Mast + Abracadabra + T nuts etc was 1.9kg and the wing + fuse was 2.9kg.

Just hope this helps anyone shopping out there. I will report back in time how I go on this wing (beginner level).

Hi - how does the 1650 differ (other than the obvious size) to the 2000cm front wing i have learnt on...when should i consider this size and why? And do you use it for all inflatable wing sizes and wind strengths?

Will give it a go over the weekend .. SB says its CODE RED, so not sure best idea to test a new foil setup (4m Naish MK1 wing and 63kgs rider HHH).

The Naish foils are one of the lightest alu setups on the market.

Test #1 completed, 10-25knts gusty, smooth take off, responsive enough not to be too boring and quiet. 64kg rider, 4m Naish 2020 Wind Surfer with 2020 Fanatic 6'4" Sky Sup. #KEEPER

Hi David. Pick your expertise mate ... now that I am pretty sorted with the Jet 1650 (i.e. cruising up and down + 30% jibes), I would like to add-on something 'faster' (pardon an ex-wsf slalom sailor hhh) when wind picks up. Being 65kg, would you recommend the Jet 1250 or 1240 HA to work up to in 20knts+ condition. Hopefully, I will want a maximum of 2 front wings in my wing quiver.

At your weight I'd recommend the HA 1240 and it would be a perfect pair for your 1650.. These HA wings are amazing.

You should also consider getting the matching rear wing (stabiliser) to go with it.

Pulled the trigger on the HA 1240 (local Naish reps Dan + Reg going for week long holiday up North, so I rushed over and was their last customer before they locked up HHH) ... will let you know all know a beginner's experience jumping from a 1650 4.0 AR to 1240 7.2 A.R. foil very soon (but I am still sticking to the larger 450 stab for now ... $$$ issues) .. can't wait to drop the clutch
+ also thank JB for his advise on this front wing 'upgrade' decision too! I went for the nuclear option vs. baby stepping to the Jet 1250 Surf foil first

After about 9 sessions on 1650 + Naish 4.0, I (64kgs + wetsuit etc) is up on foil in about 12-14knts now. Beginner (about 20 sessions total on a wing ding). Hope data helps.

Tested the HA 1240 yesterday in 18-23knts. I think with the big 450 tail stab, was not too squirrelly but definately looser feeling and was up 3knts compared to the 1650 immediately. Felt much faster though hhh. Take off in gust not much harder than the big foil. So, I agree, go for a HA foil if you a more lively and reactive ride. Aiming to get the matching tail stab in 2 weeks

The new Naish HA foils really are amazing..

They really get up and boogie and make the regular foils feel like they are stuck in 3rd gear (which is great for learning)

Amen! ... the 1650 could be on SB soon after I nail my jibes (it's that switched footing after the jibe that messes with my post-windsurfer brain HHH) ... perhaps at HA 1400 or JET 1250 for the lighter day .. what you reckon? Maybe running both HA 1240 + HA 1400/Jet 1250 with a 320 stab. I don't prone surf (i.e pump) and just looking at 12-30 knts wing blasting and maybe catch a swell or two on way back to shore.
