Hello everybody

I'm trying to increase my wind range in the upper limit. I know I have to put my weight on my front foot, open my back hand and put the wing higher.

Regarding changes in equipment, I think it's faster to replace the front wing of the foil by an smaller one than replacing the wing, but does it have enough impact?. Which are the different consequences comparing changes in wing and front wing?

Thanks.

Replace the handwing first. You can go in ridiculously strong winds with a big foil (maybe move the mast a bit further back in the tracks), but you cannot do that with a big hand wing. As a workaround you can of course hold the wing over your head, but you sacrifice a lot of control by doing that. Also wings are not made of steel, so the material gives in and they do bag out if the wind is too strong.

Ok, thanks, understood. And if wind increase finds you in the water or in case of gusty wind, is there any other technical skills apart from the ones I mention initially which I should get?

If the wind picks up while you're already out, you can turn as much into the wind as possible, so you decrease the angle of attack against the wing. But still this is not a situation you want to stay for all too long. I usually go back and change for another wing after a few minutes.

Recommend the Duotone SLS Slick Wings, they have an incredible range and like to be overpowered.
