Hi!
I am a bit confused since I tried the Duotone Carve. Specially the 3.0... Before I thought to reach more the HA level is key in most disciplines. Also to go fast. Now I compared the glide with the new carve and turning is so much smoother and looser. Mostly I am on inland waters with maximum small wind chop waves. Here I also try to get better in jumping. So carve is the better choice. But I also used the foils in ocean waves a bit.
Now I wonder what would be the better foil for doing both!? Most of the so named pronefoils are more around AR of 8 like the Sk8, Whizz, Spitefire, AFS Silk... So is it key to have a glidy foil but not to much span that it won't glide to far out of the pocket and being to locked in? Also the carve like foils like lift havoc or gong ypra surf freestyle are pretty low in AR... Around 7! Means better turning and sitting nearer to the critical section but not so good for linking waves? At least I think about the latest armstrong HA with lot of camber. Lot of ppl use this for prone too. Maybe some of u can help to see this clearer?

theres a lot more variables apart from AR. overall outline, cross sectional profile, camber and reflex through that profile and that's before you consider the effect of tails. There is always a compromise between a tight turning surf based foil and something with more glide - generally higher aspect for sure. But then we have the new iterations of higher aspect foils with a lot of in built reflex like say the KT atlas at 11 aspect but still surfs quite well in the pocket, which is making the waters somewhat murky on what's what.

In the end ride and see what suites you.

The brands do a good job of claiming what the main strength of each model in their range is, and no foil is great at everything, Each sailor has to look at the conditions where they sail then choose a model to suit. I have Duotone Glide V2 750 and 900, and 1085 V1. Yet to try my 800 Carve 3, which might replace 750 in my conditions.
