Looking for rider's performance review between newly MA Armstrong series and the MA Axis HPS series. Axis HPS has been out for 2 years. Both have similar AR. Similar new high carbon mast . Axis has an assortment of tails and fuse.

Axis shape is definitely 2 years old and foils have come a ways.
That said you don't need to go to Armstrong to get more modern shapes.

Talking to someone who was armstrong, then axis, now back to armstrong - there is nothing wrong with that HPS wing. Great wing apparently. But yeh it is 2 yrs old in design but for most of us - who cares.

Can't speak to the Armstrong, but definitely nothing wrong with the HPS despite it's age, and if you invest in the Axis ecosystem you clearly have a lot of options. I think the HPS is a pretty safe choice for a lot of surf/DW wingers. Its definitely not the fastest, or the carviest, or the best glide, or best pump, or whatever, but it's real strength is that it doesn't do any of those things badly either.

Also HPS probably not the best description anymore, as they are not fast foils but modern standards.

Personally hoping Axis refresh the HPS range this year with a more efficient design.
