Buggered lower back from 20 years of programming, riding and windsurfing. Winging made it a whole lot worse. Spent $$$$ on Osteso, Physios and hours and hours streatching with very little success.
Saw this in Kmart and gave it a crack. Though I was going to snap in half on the middle setting but it's all but fixed my back, happy days. Just lie on it for a couple of minutes a day, my kinda stretching. Guessing you could use a foam roller or rolled up towel too.www.kmart.com.au/product/adjustable-back-support-42914570/
I'm not a back specialist so seek professional advice if you're concerned it might not be for you.

Looks like a a torture device for my back.
At 62 my lower back has a couple of vertebrates that don't want to stay aligned. Inflammation from lifting stuff or trying to work out just causes pain for a number of days afterwards. Anti-inflammatory drugs are the temporary solution most of the time for me.
What specific problems did you have and what else do you do besides use this to make your back feel better?
I totally understand where you're coming from with the back pain from all the physical activities, I've had similar issues from years of weightlifting. I was skeptical about the adjustable back support I saw at Kmart, but I decided to give it a try since I had tried everything else with little success. To my surprise, it worked wonders for me. I've been using it for a couple of minutes a day and it's all but fixed my back. It's a simple and easy to use stretching tool.
I'm not a back specialist, so I would recommend seeking professional advice before trying it out, but I highly recommend giving it a try. It's an affordable option and it's much more convenient than spending hours stretching and going to physios and osteos.
Keep in mind that what worked for me might not work for you, but it's always worth a try. I hope this helps and you find relief from your back pain.

The physios and osteos I saw over the last 20 years always gave me the usual speel. Computer work (pre standing desks) and laptops, bike riding, wind surfing all have an arms fwd hunched fwd posture. Over time your ab and chest muscles contract leaving you in a permanent hunched over state with you lower back working overtime holding you up.
Usual set of exercises they gave me were to open up my chest, like hanging on to a door frame and twisting, cat/cow, etc and core strengthening. Something like this
If you haven't heard of Foundation Training, def check that out. Focuses on strengthening the posterior chain. Works wonders.
