Nor'easter or southeast,very gusty,not constant

locals aren't real keen on foils there during popular times

be aware of swimmers

If you see a crowdad wearing a a Garmin Fenix with a red band it's mine, lost it there after having wrist leash lose and hit with a strong gust, leash slipped down and tore of the watch

The best direction at Lake Ainsworth is to get in your car and drive South 12 klm to Ballina. Lake Ainsworth is surrounded by trees so is always gusty in any wind direction. Swimmers have been hit by wind/wing surfers & if this happens again v likely to be banned from the lake.
NW to NE sail in North Ck off Martin St boat ramp. Smooth water but a short run at low tide.
NE to SE go off beaches either North or South side of Missingham bridge if you can handle small swells coming in the river mouth. Not on outgoing tide as if wind drops you'll be outgoing too.
SE to W sail off yacht club for smooth water and long runs up & down river.
