Just wondering if many who ride setups with aluminium parts - with tef gel used on screws - in saltwater, disassemble everything, or simply rinse the setup and keep assembled?

Also - isn't tef gel simply silca grease (as used on o rings and camera housings) - or not?

Thanks : )

I just loosen everything off after each session and apply tefgel twice a year, never had a problem.

It contains PTFE, no silicone. You can just use white lithium spray grease just as effectively and it's cheaper.

No need to disassemble, just periodically back the screws out a couple of turns and tighten up again.

I use tef gel and titanium bolts, do not disassemble, just rince the whole setup.

A small tube of tef gel will last a lifetime :-)
