Are there any owners of JP M-Winger or have any of you already tested it ?
If so, I'd love your feedback.
Thanks.
I recently purchased M Winger 135 litre board. I weigh about 80 kg. I have an artificial knee so have trouble getting to my feet on narrow boards. This is the only one I've been able to use. It slices through the water off foil really well and I'm able to get on foil with approximately one meter less wing size. I didn't weigh it but it feels fairly light. It is more stable than I would have thought especially once it's moving. As long as I am pointed downwind I can get to my feet in reasonably large chop with no problem. I am an average winger at best and I'm able to fly through my gybes and foot switch on it no problem. The nice thing is where I live the wind can drop quickly and if that happens I can easily go up wind off foil back to where I started. Because I stand so far forward on the board it doesn't seem like a large board. If you have additional questions let me know.
Hi Hover62,
Thanks so much for your feedback !!!!
I was actually looking at this board because I'm looking for a board to complement my "little big one" for Light Wind to sail here on the Lakes where the wind is quite light in the summer (less than 15 knots) and where, like yours, it can drop or weaken quickly. Being 1m89 and 110kg+ I think this type of model would be more suitable than Mid Length models, at least in my spot the people using this type of DW board are often the ones who take off and fly the most when the wind drops.....
Currently I can sail up to 11.5 to 12 knots with my 6'4 x 29 of 130 liters with my North Loft Pro 7m? and my BSC1120 of 2100cm? but maybe this type of board will allow me to gain a little range of practice (if I can go down to 10 knots that would be perfect, I don't ask for less) without having to mount a big foil which remains slow and unmanageable or why not use a slightly smaller wing....
So I was thinking about this M-Winger in 7'3 x 24 of 135 liters.
I had a board with similar dimensions to your 130 l board. And I can tell you for sure that you will get on foil much easier with the M-Winger 135. The board accelerates much faster and easier than the wider boards. Good luck hope you enjoy it.
