Is it possible to put a shark shield on a foil board ?
Is it worth it?
Only if you live in a place with big sharks, oh, you live in WA, fit 2
I have. Backup if I have equipment failure out at sea and have a long prone paddle back to shore on a small board. I will only turn it "on" if that happens.
And I am spending more time in the water than usual while learning to Parawing here in Perth, so I must admit I am thinking about the large fishes when I am off my board and lot more than I used to.
Have a chat to Dave at Katana surfboards in Osborne Park. He developed the Rpela system and will let you know if it's suitable.
just make sure you check screws and stuff more often, and Tefgel everything (sure you do anyway..)
I have seen one on a SUP completely eat thru the fin bolt (US box) due to the electrolysis being sped up.

If this device actually works as shown in the vid, I'd think this would be like inventing the fin; ie, a must have!
Would certainly encourage me to do more downwinding and and get back to surfing solo at the secret spots!
Problem is who going to participate in a blind study!
University of WA did a study on these and some other devices a few years back and had positive results hence the WA government offering rebates.
