Hello Wingers from Japan! I have a question and need your advice!??

I started wing foiling 2 years ago , using 65L Takuma board( my weight is 66kg) right now. Im thinking to get smaller board which is 35L Appleslice(v1)by Appletree.

but no one has Appletree board around me.

If you have any reviews about Appleslice(v1) and whether it's good for my first sinker board!
(I heard that square shape makes easier to get going thanks to its wide surface area??)
I can wave riding(pump wave to wave), can do all 8 jibe and tacks level.
thank you!!!!!

Ive ridden the board, but not in a sinker size. Its a very stable board (which is a good thing), but the squared shape is more prone to catching a rail vs a more traditional shape. If theres any way to get the v2 Slice (which I have ridden as a sinker), I would highly recommend that board over the v1. But if you've found a good deal on the v1, go for it.

Either way, the board construction is second to none.

If you like the G-deck shape of the Takuma, the newer CK board is a nice upgrade, the flatter rocker & sharper tail releases earlier than the TK & still has the nice G-deck concave & volume forward design.... I have noticed also F-one has similar shape & they have a lot of lightweight riders so the smaller boards are very Wing specific - not just prone shapes.

The Generic Foil podcast interviewed the founder of Appletree recently. It may help your decisions.

Noffi, I am winging in the Hiroshima area on a Gong lethal 65l for my 65kgs but no swell or wave winging, you could check out Hadou's reviews (they are in French but you can watch) as he does a lot of winging and swell riding too, but afaik not on the appleslice board, did you check out TedSurf too, he has tons and tons of prone boards of all sizes
