Anyone tried these ones yet?

What has been the experience thus far? From which front wing did you upgrade to which new HP?

I currently have the glide surf XL and pondering which front wing to upgrade to, while maintaining similar low wind lift capability but getting lots more speed.

I was holding on and waiting with my NP glide set-up. In the end I just switched over to axis. The HP wings were too little too late!

Also the NP front wing to fuse connection was not rigid enough for 1m wide wingspan. No problem on the medium and large but the XL could be a bit squirly and wierd at times. Rigid axis connection doesn't have this issue. I went from NP XL to axis 1010 as my most used wing for sup foil and wing ding. 1010 is better in almost all aspects and very little loss in low end ability

I have not used the NP HP wings as yet but have been very happy winging with the glide medium slim front wing and small rear. I am around 90kg and learnt with the large glide wing. I don't think I lost much low end going to the medium slim wing and it seems faster. you may be able to find a medium slim cheap?
overall I have been happy with the NP glide foils durability and performance over 18mths of pretty hard use, it's just a shame the availability of the different wings is so slow.

Thanks Wally! After Youngbreezy's post I thought I was all alone here haha! Thanks YB for sharing that!

I have the regular M wing. Haven't tried it for a long while. Only used it for windfoiling. But will give it a go now switching down from XL. I know it has good lift.

Interesting point about the M slim wing. Wasn't on my radar. Thanks for sharing your data. I am 75 kg so with the M slim I should be good. Heard good stuff about the slim wing (but for windfoiling). Good to hear it being usable for wing too!

Already searching for a m slim wing. I have the smaller stab.

Wally: are you winging with the slim wing in flatwater? Or waves?

mix of flat water and fat river mouth type swells, the medium slim is a lot easier on a wave then the large glide as runs flatter with less chance of over foiling with the extra push of the wave.
the small rear wing is a must I think, even on the large glide wing to smooth out the ride.(less pitchy), try your medium glide with the wing , I think it would have plenty of lift and be quite loose on a wave. probably not real quick though
cheers wally

I own an NP setup and used it for quite a bit, great setup but as stated above no product support (ie. few updates).

I recommend cutting your losses and NOT going for the HP series but picking up a used Medium Slim. The medium slim is a great wing and you should be able to find a used one reasonable. Good for wing/kite/prone. Otherwise switch brands.

Quick update on the new NP HP wings. Looking at the slim wing, I found a couple of shops in Germany and Europe that started selling the NP HP front wing. Back wing still not available (sigh..). I went ahead and ordered a size 17, corresponding to about 1700 cm2.

It fitted well on the old glide surf fuselage. It is super snug though. One issue was the length of the front wing screws. The old wing was thicker. The new one about 60% of the old one. The old screws were 3 mm too long. Fitting them initially there was a gap between fuse and wing. I thought perhaps a bad finish or quality. After shortening the screws by 2-3 mm everything fitted well.

Yesterday the first outing with the wing. So switching from the old XL front wing to new HP 17 wing. First impressions:
- a lot more lift than I expected. I had to lean constantly on the front leg, especially at higher speeds the nose of board wanted to rise more and more. Next time I'll put the mast a bit more aft and see if that solves it.
- still riding with the old stab which is designed for a much fatter XL wing. I may need to shim the old stab so that the front wing gets pushed down a bit more.
- previous top speed with the XL was 25 kph. Yesterday I hit 24 kph on the new wing, but with better tuning can get better.
- for a 1 hr session yesterday it took me 40 mins to get used. Suddenly something clicked and I enjoyed it.
- it feels super smooth underneath, it's stable but lively too.
- it pumps much easier. With the XL pumping was a heavier and slower action. Here a little push already results in more glide, I guess the higher aspect concept effect (so no surprise here)
- the part that impressed me: it's much faster through turn. So fast that I wasnt expecting and was riding each time against the wing in the hands. I needed conciously to lift the wing higher so not to ride against it, or switch hands faster. So the lower part of my body was faster than upper part.
- pumping and getting going.. once I got used to the new wing it became only easier to the point that I felt that pumping and getting going is much easier. For sure once the nose of the board releases the water you instantly feel much less drag underneath and speed builds up faster.
- wind conditions were 10-12 kts I used a 6m wing.. perhaps a bit big. I think going out in higher winds and 4.2 wing will be a fun experience.
- I was a bit afraid the high aspect wing on the old fuse might feel less stiff.. as the trend is now for wider fuse-to-frontwing mount. But I felt it was fine. Felt stiff (if I compare with my full carbon AFS windfoil).

So..all in all NP and KDMaui did a fantastic job here! Now all the above without the new stab. So when that's in I'll be in for another little upgrade (in a way happy I dont have the full set yet so I get to experience two upgrades)

Hope NP gets its roll out together of this great wing.
