For those who ride with a boom, what kind of harness line setup do you ride? This is my first season with a boom and I haven't settled on a setup that I love yet. Connections on a two point harness line were sliding around too much and the line kept getting wrapped around the boom. I tried a mono loop and while it felt pretty good while hooked in, it was terrible when pumping the wing and kept whacking me in the face - I had to take it off before I gave myself a black eye or chipped a tooth. I may try a lighter mono loop and see if that works.
let me know your suggestions. Not particularly interested in the Artness setup - too fiddly and obtrusive for my needs.
I'm using Mystic harness line. Works best for me.

I use a mono line. I have it on tight and rotate it up into the canopy when pumping. Or, I slide my hands back which lifts the wing and puts the harness line to the side of my head. I prefer the mono because it doesn't catch my helmet when tacking.

That is not necessary at all, you just hold the harness line with your backhand thumb until you have finished pumping.
I sometimes do that with a two point harness line, but the mono line I had was too stiff. Im going to try a softer / lighter one.

I rotate the 2 point or monopoint lines off to the side when I am sitting in the water before starting. Once on foil just rotate back into position.

One thing I don't like about windsurfing harness lines is that they are rough on the boom grip. You have to accept it windsurfing because the forces are much greater, but I don't think it's necessary winging (even if the booms are much cheaper to replace).

The north ones that velcro onto the bar. they are light enough that they don't hurt when they hit your face, and don't damage the bar, but can loop around the bar sometimes.

Regular windsurf booms are too thick, so you must pick the skinny ones, for the new booms with reduced diameter.
I like the Duotone/ION Fixor Pros. They work well with booms or two handle wings and you can put them on without removing anything. The way they go on, it's also easy to adjust how snugly they fit on the boom/handles so you can go for something that rotates easily or something that is more set. After using rope lines that blow away in high winds, and bungee lines which I feel trapped in, I'm settling back into regular windsurfing harness lines. I find they don't wrap around my head in tacks either.

I like the bungies from PKS, they can flip over the boom but it is super easy to flip them back (or use the thumb trick to prevent that while pumping)...Jeff Howard is really into this kind of stuff and tends to come up with pretty good solutions

I have that wingman handle protector thing. I like it because it keeps the mono line within 6 inches. It slides across the protector but not off it.
on the other hand I really didn't like the wingman mono line. Very heavy and the weight makes it pendulum and swing a lot. Not to mention expensive.
tried a simple chinook mono line today and it was a lot better. Pretty similar to the Goya one linked above. I think this will work for me.

I really like the North fixed harness line. It's got silicone strips inside the velcro and webbing so it stays where you put it, and very easy to hook in and out of. I use it as a single loop with both velcros together on the boom.
It's easy enough to move it a bit while riding. If you want to completely readjust it then it's probably easier to stop and sit and move it.
I never got hit by it. My mate has the Unifiber loops and they really hurt when they hit you in the face. They are ridiculously stiff.
The only negative with the North is they are about $100.
I put in a heap of hours using a harness line, but I eventually gave up. They're really good going upwind and make multi-hour sessions easy. When I wasn't hooked in I barely noticed it was there. I had a few messed up tacks where my back hand went through the loop on the changeover.
I had a couple of fully powered catapults into the wing. I didn't like the beating to my body or the impact of the harness hook on my shiny new wing.
I've been riding without a harness and don't miss it at all, although long runs back upwind are tedious.
I've been using the ozone v2 wing harness lines for a few years on booms and handles I find them simple and once you get used to them they are fine
probably try a couple of different ones on your mates gear as there quite a few different types and find what you like before you buy

+ 1 for this. Wasn't sure if I would like it but it is outstanding. Only issue - learning to unhook. Easy sorted. Grab the boom and the lines (trapping the lines) rearward of the back line connection to the boom unhook the open your rear hand and they all move into the retracted position. I actually ride trapping the lines in case I need to unhook quickly.
