Hi everyone
I am interested in buying a gong cruzader 2025 but have a doubt on the size. I am 58 years old, 75kg.... I can gybe ok and can follow bumps free flying... Nothing special.
I was going to go for the 5'10 with 92 litres volume but have some doubts now....or going bigger with the 6 feet 102 liters or smaller with the 5'8 and 85 liters.
Any cruzader user who could give me some feedback with their own experience?
Personally, I want a board that make my life easy, take off early on any type of wings and avoid wasting my energy waiting in an unstable position waiting the wind to pick up to start flying on the foil..or pumping like a looney...too old for that ??
Thanks in advance

I had several midlength boards from the Armstrong Midlength, KT Super K (1 and 2), F-One ML and the Gong Cruzader Diamond.
The one I like the least was the Gong.
Heavy, not very efficient waterline and volume distribution which does not guarantee stability when schlogging (volume packed in thickness).
If a friend asked, id' tell him to look elsewhere. Gong are cheap for a reason. Typically they rush to the market, several versions in short time spans often without much thinking on how to optimize design.

Armstrong and KT are my recommended one and if you find them used the price difference vs a new Gong is not that steep

Ok thanks. I actually found a super k from 2024. It is 6'1 and 80 l but I am not sure if the size is right for and I'd a. 92 liter would be better. What's your opinion on this if you had a super k in the past?

You're 75kg, 80L is lots.

With the Super K1 I would be conservative on volumes due to their displacement hull which promotes early lift at the expense of stability. The Super K2 has a flatter hull and at 93kg I am with a 90L with zero issues also with no wind and I have tried the 80L with medium wind and had no trouble either.

As @Grantmac said at 75kg, with a 80L v1 you should be more than fine.

Hi @SlowlyBut Surely,
I'm trying to decide between a Super K v2 90 and 95l board.
I'm 92kgs naked but then wear a 6/4 wetsuit, hood boots etc in winter.
I've got a smaller 72l board which is my only board atm but want something to make things a bit easier in lighter winds and chop and feel safer going further looking for swell. So I was thinking the 95l but really would prefer the 90l if I can get away with it!

As you are the same weight as me and already have the 90l what would you recommend? Thanks in advance!

same as you. I went for the 90L and I dont regret. I use it for parawing and winging. Very good board. The higher volume on the nose is a session saver as it allows to balance well when lifting the wing and prevent nose from diving when pumping aggressively.
