Wondered if anyone has any feedback on Gong Veloce Foil. Currently mainly using Curve LT 1450cm3 (low to mid aspect, surf/carve specific)foil and thinking the Veloce LT could be better.

Whilst the Curve turns great I feel it lacks glide in wind chop, less powerful funky waves and down winding. At my beach most are riding Phantoms (which I'm tempted to switch to but I like Gong and their price point) and are flagging out the wing and gliding for alot longer than me. I'm sure in part it's skill but I am competent and get out every other day on average.

I'm 78kg and use the Curve LT from 12/13 knots.

It seems not many of the Gong riders seem to use them which makes me dubious.

I've been using the Curve LT for quite a while, getting it going in 10-12kts winging with my 75kg. It's a good wing but lacking glide and does not like breaching.
I upgraded to the Fluid XLS which is comparable size, comparable glide (deception there), Turning better and breaching great. I had the Veloce L in the past, glides better but drops suddenly at lower speeds, does not like to go slow. Apparently the Veloce LT has a better minimum speed.
Tried and upgraded to the Kujira 1210/980 recently and it's a world of difference.. Comparing the Curve LT and Kujira 1210, the glide is probably 30% better (probably better than phantoms), the turning is 10-20% better, similar stall speed, breaching is not a problem for the kujira. Takuma is :
- a bit more expensive than gong
- some of their aluminum fuselages bend (but can be replaced in warranty for a good one)
- lighter : 3.8kg for alu setup
- the kujira front wings are unbelievable. The combo glide/turning/min speed in the best I know.

I'm 83kg's, riding Curve LT mostly. I have also Veloce L. If i compare those two: curve LT is better at lower speeds, Veloce drops suddenly if speed is too slow. Curve Lt turns better and it has better lift on waves. Veloce L glides just a little bit better but not that much. Differences between those two are not very big, i would not buy Veloce L if you already have Curve LT because it's pretty close.

I'm waiting that Gong brings new high aspect foil line to the table. Hard to imagine that they don't as almost all of the other manufactures are doing so. Gong has pretty extensive foil quiver, but they are missing HA wings. Could be partly because owners own preferences, but it's hard to think that they won't respond to the market soon.

Thanks for those 2 insights. Not many out there that love the Veloce and I'd previously read that it seems to have the weird drop at lower speed. The Fluid was met with universal approval (but not a HA wing which I'm after) and I havnt read a bad word against it. The Veloce seems to have luke warm feedback in comparison. I want "Smoking!!" not "luke warm"... Lol.

The Takuma does seem tempting as does the Axis 999. As Winger12 mentioned Gong must be release an equivalent soon. Its whether I can be patient enough!
