Wow we have had pretty poor wind for over 4 weeks now!!! and in my zone there are not too many people riding Go Foil so it's tough for me to swap and try foils out

do some of you wingnuts have experience with the GT and GL series, I was going to get a GT1250 and then I realised the GL180 has almost the same area (1280cm2 or so) and my tiny monkey brain is wondering which would be better for general winging or what the differences really are
cheers

The GL series was great.for its time. It got us pumping around after the Maliko and iwa but I wouldn't ride one today if you paid me. I rode the GL 140 for a bit in September after riding better modern wings for a year and it has some serious design flaws. Probably worse than the bigger versions but it was super prone to ventilation. Every second on foil I could hear the tip vortex trying to suck in air, if you even got close to the surface it was done, 0 chance of handling a breach.

the GT stuff, sounds to be like the NL but better behaved. (I have a NL 160 - equivalent to GT 1250) It's going to be a speed control wing, not super fast and will slow you down to keep you from getting over baked. Think not wanting to outrun the energy on a big powerful point break. That's probably the only situation I'd recommend it for.
I'd skip both and just get the RS 1150 or, if your feeling energetic, the RS 1000. The 1150 is more speed generation compared to the GTs speed control. I'd say the 1150 is going to have more bottom and top end than the GT 1250.

At 210 lbs the 1000 is the only one I use anymore for prone and ding. It's a real handful, a lot of work, but rewarding. Less bottom end than the 1150, no more top end, but turns fantastic while keeping all of its speed.

Both RS pair perfectly with the 12.5 FTL.

Thanks TME, kind of what I thought, the GT having the wing step to solve the ventilation problem, I don't care for the NL wings as the winglets are just going to eat my wings wipeout after wipeout
