I have been towed behind a boat and done some crashing with my wing and board on a borrowed GoFoil. Now it is time to get my owm.
I have two options for foils. Armstrong 2400 and Lift HA 250. There is quite a difference in the surface areas and design.
I am 76 years old and weigh about 62 kilos. Very good shape for my age.
What are the differences in actual usage? Is one easier to learn on?
Is one going to be better for the future?
If you have experience with these foils please share your thoughts.
Thanks.
For your weight the Armstrong 2400 is a lot of wing, it will lift at really slow speeds - this could be good if you want to learn with a smaller hand wing or it could be too much if the wind pumps hard where you are. As far as ease of use the 2400 is great as long as you don't go too fast on it - if you need to increase the speed then at least switch up the tail to something small and shim it. Otherwise for used wings an 1850 or 1550 may be a good find depending on the wind where you live and hand wing size.
