Foot placement gybing

Hi
I ride the Naish hover 125L board. just starting to learn to gybe, do ppl move there rear foot out towards the rail to initiate turn? thanks in advance.

That would be....depends.
Width and size of foil, your weight, your feet size, and most important, whether you can put weight on leeward to head downwind where you're standing.
And style of jibe, radius, and g force.

Not really. I dont know your background, but if its windsurfing (like mine, where moving the feet to carve is normal) winging will take an adjustment in the carves. For a carve (jibe /tack/360) to work out you really have to stay above the board like a surfer / snowboarder, as opposed to windsurfing where you initialise the turn by pushing the leeside rail, even on the foil.

Background is windsurfer/kitesurfer/SUP surfer.
So lean into the carve keeping feet central. thanks for info.

I'm on a Naish hover 125lt also. A few pumps with the wing to build speed, I leave my feet central to initiate gybes, lean to put toeside (or heel side) pressure, arms straight wing forward helps to turn the board and keep the weight on the front foot.
