Would be interesting to try back to back- every 1m on a hand wing makes slot of difference in power. The 9m would be a beast in specialised light wind locations.
just got myself an 8m to use in 10knots in Perth & Bali
Nice, I feel the one valve per bladder is a good system, just one point of potential failure instead of many.
handles added ..
And a lot of weight too...
.. not if your pockets are deep enough ![]()

Love to hear some first hand feedback...been tempted to add a 7m as we get lots of marginal wind days here, and a new and improved version that lives up to the marketing might just get me to pull the trigger
Fone CWC V3 6-7-8m where's the Carbon handles ?
Most companies are supplying handles eg Ocean Rodeo 2 x Carbon handles or Carbon mini boom in 90cm or 110cm.
I have purchased OR Carbon mini booms and will get a sail Doctor to fit them.Extra cost but way better than soft handles for a big wing with better control.
A lot are saying if you are putting your carbon handle on a wing that was designed for a soft handle, it will be tweachy, feel unbalanced in the gust and vice versa. Any inputs on that statement?

A carbon handle is so direct, it will expose a poor wing instantly. If a soft handle wing is a great wing, adding a hard handle will only make it better.

Just recieved my new V3 8m CWC checking manual nothing on priority sequence of pumping LE first or strut first or vice versa and recommended deflate any of you new CWC owners have a handle on best sequencing of inflate/deflate on new V3,before I take a shot at it no biggie I guess maybe little of both lightly to take shape then top of strut first hmmm.thanks
Thanks Mike figures have not unrolled it out of bag yet just was reading manual first and didn't say much, will check that on first maiden inflation makes sense.??
Well finally took it out of bag and yep inflate LE 1st strut second and on deflate strut 1st LE 2nd like it says, question is be curious what other new V3 owners are doing,do you top of LE at 8psi 1st then strut after to a full 9psi I'm inclined to to inflate LE to good shape say 5-6 psi then inflate strut to same so wing is in generally pretty decent wing form then top off LE to +-8psi then top off strut to 9psi split the difference kinda, probably overthinking it little but bit as a bit different animal then my my old V2 CWC but so far without trying out yet seems pretty nice in the hands with new handles and strut shapes a bit different then V2 but comfortable canopy definitely tighter for sure, gonna take a little getting used to folding with the taking care of load diffuser and 2 valve inflate/deflate but looking forward to it when we get out this wind drought here.

Without understanding why it matters which to inflate and deflate first I just follow instructions. Thinking I know better usually turns out wrong
I am writing this as I have had a 7m CWC for a couple of years and hated the soft handles! I have riden this wing with a carbon boom from the third time I used this wing! It is my favourite wing by far and the wind range is 8 too 25 knots! I have made multiple editions of my boom with every one getting better until this last edition. This last edition was different because it connects firmly to the webbing at the front of the front handle and the rear of the back handle. This is different from the other prefered way because it makes it a totally ridgid handle opposed to the other booms which allowed the boom to pivot slightly from side to side.I found that with this big wing in high winds by having it ridgid it pumped my forearms so quickly I was amazed. I rode for about a hour in solid 20 knots before coming in and changing back to the other option and immidiately found the wing was much easier to fly, speed carve and jump also without arm pump or burn. I'm going to use a hockey stick handle for the next edition of this ridgid boom and see if this makes a difference as I have preferred this shape over the round or oval booms I have made in the past.

Takoon Ultra with Carbon handles works very well and it's basically the same as normal Takoon v2 with soft handles.
Some users add a boom or modify the soft handles of Strikes and they're happy with the mod. So maybe it depends, with some Wings it may work with some not.

I agree with DWF. Rigid handles and booms will expose the pressure instability in bad wing designs. Also with a good sail design, there is no such thing as too much feedback from the sail into your arms and brain. I have used a boom on the v2 CWC 7m and the feedback feels superb.
Any updates on the CWC v3 overall?
I had my third session on the 8m v3. It's been great. No regrets on the purchase. I sail in a gusty location, so it can become overloaded when the breeze is on. I read other commenters say that you need to pump more with the back hand to get on foil. I tried that yesterday and people were right. Big difference. Im happy with the radial panel layout, and the materials feel good. I still prefer my North and Duotone handles, but appreciate the lightness in this huge wing. Despite the CWC name, the span is still very large, and Im quite tall....Overall it's a positive experience and I enjoyed sessions that wouldnt have been successful using my 6.5M Unit.
Good to hear...I'm just a beginner and learning in 8knots (which is what it is most days here) is proving to be a challenge, and really cuts back on the days I even consider trying...

85kg with 6m, it's good. Light, feather to best angle or tiring, low drag in lulls. Handles hard enough to twist wing (hope that doesn't wear off). Short pumps with small push forward, bit overhead, not much feedback/force on hhands but somehow up you come.

8 knots is really light for learning.
Maiden voyage on V3 8m today and be curious what other V2 8m veteran riders opinions/thoughts out there.First go was a bit disappointing feel low end is not quite the same as the V2 8m for 100kg crew also ergonomics seem a bit off compared to V2 wing tips seem to catch more so than V2,disclaimer first go on V3 after many many hrs on V2 so perhaps be a bit biased for holy grail big guy wing V2 8m CWC,like to here what other riders have to say of V2 vs V3 8m have to say, kinda strange as thought the tighter canopy and all new bells and whistles of V3 this and that would be a low end plus not quite sure after maiden voyage

86kg and V3 6m. Compared to Ensis 6.2m lacked bottom end. Played around with pumping technique and improved. Also if held too vertical in sail or pump wing tip dives into water, small adjustment avoids this.
To pump hold more above head (45 degreesish). Do lots of small pumps pushing wing forward at same time which build speed to take-off. Bit weird as no sense of power through hands, but somehow speed builds and with a few leg pumps if needed up you get.
So I bought a v3 8m, and I habe been tested it since mid may.
I think it's a good wing overall, paired with an axis art 899 in 12 - 15knots is amazing, I'm also using the axis 1300 for those very light days.
It's also cool for free riding, despite the huge size it's easy to pump with the wing flaged.
I agree with what has been said above, the pumping feel weird with it, I'm 77 kg for 65 liter board and I find it's really hard to generate speed on those very light wind days, the wing tips tends to touch the water during the pumping as you are generating speed..
However, I think my wing have an issue at the canopy lvl: It's flaping a lot no matter if I'm in light or moderate wind, the canopy feel baggy and it's flaping.
I'm checking the issue with my retailer, in the mean time, do you guys experiment the same issue with it? I guess it's an isolated case but just to confirm.
