Hey all, I was foiling behind the boat and the handle got wrapped around the mast and damaged it. I've sanded it back, and I was wondering what you'd recommend to repair it?

dont just dodge it up is structural. Not a fan of the video there is not enough scarf (bevel) and too much resin is weaker so straight away its a concern re his knowledge.

I think that video is fine. Overkill even. That trailing edge isnt remotely structural. Throw a ton of filler in there, sand the shape back into it, laminate with a few layers of 2 oz. Sand into the glass and paint it.
Thats if you even bother with a repair, that high on the mast It might not even matter.
They bend a lot, I'd not risk it. Plus, why not maintain your resale value?
And the comment in the video along the lines of 'too much resin is about right' makes me wonder if they have a clue. As you would know, its quite the opposite.
Agree that making moulds is overkill. I'll post pics of it when its done

about 15layers carbon obviously bevels out to only like 3 layers at the TE.

Very impressive. Out of curiosity, do you let each layer cure before you apply the next one? With 15 layers of carbon assume you didn't use any filler to build it up under the carbon? Wish my repairs turned out like this!
No filler
all layers laminated at once otherwise you'd have to sand before the next is applied
and minimal resin is best so all in one hit and vac bagged
I don't have familiarity with vacuum bagging, but out of curiosity, how do you cure it while maintaining the shape of the trailing edge? did you put some kind of supports around it so that it didn't deform while curing? Total amateur over here, but I damage enough gear that Im always trying to learn!

No expert either but if I was doing it I would build up to match the maximum thickness of the mast at the centre to start and sand back to match the shape.
^^^ ahh but then you see the layers so it ends up like sanding a bevel on plywood
so it's two step ..
