Hi all,
I'm curious to know how people are storing their foiling equipment in their garages? I like to leave my foils on the boards but of course this takes up a fair bit of awkward space. My ceiling height in my garage is also well under 7'. I currently have wall mounted, horizontal racks that used to be home to non-foil boards (SUPs, windsurfing, surfboards) longer than 6'. Now most of my boards now are generally short enough to be stored vertically, so I may remove the horizontal rack system and organize things differently. Any good hacks for foil board organizing in smaller garages? Thanks!
I hung rope slings from old windsurfer masts down one side of my garage, and the boards sit in them, flat against the wall. I leave them in their travel bags and line the rope with pool noodles for extra rail protection.
A lot of guys here have vans or big 4 wheel drive and keep everything in their cars
Unfortunately someone had their board, wing and foils stolen from their vehicle at Church Point, Sydney last week
I keep my board and foil in 1 piece in my van, lying sideways. The 93 cm mast just about fits from side to side. I removed 2 of the 6 seats of the left side. Board and foil lying a bit like this:

All needed is to slide the whole thing out, pump the wing and go ![]()

I'm heading back to Broulee on the Far South Coast next month and this is the worry I have when I'm home. If I ride my bike to the beach and some prick helps themselves to my gear on shore while I'm in the water.
I just have a rack of shelving along one wall. 2 sups, 2 wing boards, rest of kit underneath in boxes.
3 bikes hung from ceiling.

About half of the shelving was recycled out of a wood pallet, then I used closet shelving brackets to hang wetsuits and to hang a wing to dry it off ![]()

I have my foils on the wall..

Did you plan that board to fit vertically or was that serendipity?
Its hard to work out a good way to store board + foil as a one piece. I take the front wing off my armstrong as the rest then fits in the car, but it doesn't store well at home without taking the mast off.

I had to look up what 'serendipity' means.. and yes.. It just happened to fit there vertically..
I think taking the mast off the board is the only answer for foil board storage for most people.. It only takes a few minutes..
Sh1tfight in my garage
too many bikes (n+1 formula) ??
so the prone boards are laying across 3 bike seats and the SUP is on the garage floor on top of a plastic storage bin
the Mal is on racks and hasn't moved for a long time and the surf SUP is under the back deck providing shelter for snakes and spiders

I've tried the sh1tfight system but the neighbours kept dropping their trash and composting off in front of our house for some reason. I like your style though; too busy shredding to put stuff away ![]()
