Hi

Seriously the development curve is huge, new foils outperform old foils in all areas.
Getting mates into sport would be the only reason.
My first foil was an Ensis 2000. (Sab1100 with different graphics)
I still use this as my light wind foil and still like it??

Expensive addiction
Needs must ;)
Moved on. Was on a 1700 Starboard foil, then a 2000. Sold the whole set up for Armstrong. 1850, 1550...Will be moving onto HA wings this year.
Hold on to gear loosely. Sell early and take the small losses before it becomes obsolete.
I started with slingshot 76i , then added the bigger 84i but couldn't turn it very well compared to the 76i.
Did about 30 sessions on these foils then switched to the higher aspect F1 1280 phantom and now just added the 1080.
I will probably change again as really like the look of the sab and go foils , so no is the answer to your question
.
For 8 knots or less, my first foil (Armstrong 2400) a 7 metre wing and 125 lt board gets plenty of use.
