Version 3.. Lots of great new features including a new bag and much smaller pack down size.. Lighter.. Stiffer.. They now have a Y handle option and they can be easily removed and even be used as a link handle between front and rear handles.. The bladder lock-out device is gone making deflating the center strut much quicker.. a new coil leash.. and oh yeah.. it's noticably more powerful

For S26 Naish offer three mast options..

A new improved aluminium mast and they also now offer two composite options.. A full carbon.. and a cheaper glass/carbon version called carbon 35 and that's the one I went for.. It's slightly heavier than the full carbon but quite a bit cheaper.

Another great vid and info DJ!

So based on your info, if you were currently riding a 6m S25, do you think a S26 5.3m would provide about the same power?

Would be good to go smaller wing for the same range

Hi DJ, thanx for your movie.. do you have more info on the new wing in terms of low end?Meaning; is the canopy already more tight and picking up low wind easily or is it still fluttering like a loose sail? Can we still close the connection to the middle strut or not anymore? And the leash has a fast strap to put on? Do you maybe have a clear pic on the wing from the front so I could see the new shape, is it more V shape? I sure hope so!thanx for your answers!

What Naish has to say about the Wing Surfer

The Naish Wing Surfer took the world by storm with its introduction in 2019, launching the sport of Wingsurfing into what is now the fastest-growing water sport in the world. The S25 Wing Surfer took the basic concept to the next level by adding more sizes, better visibility, and improved performance. This season's all-new Wing Surfer MK3 is packed with design features that will carry this rapidly evolving sport well into the future.

We started with the basic outline, refining the leading edge curve of each size wing to maximize drive, balance, and stability in its given wind range. Panel count has been reduced for lighter weight, yet not overly simplified, ensuring that optimum foil shape is retained. Leading edge diameters have been increased in the center of the wing to provide a substantially more rigid airframe, without appearing cartoonishly large as seen on some other wings. In this case, "bigger is better" has limits, and a balance between diameter sizes versus drag, speed potential, weight of leading edge material and internal bladder, etc. must all be taken into consideration. The MK3 leading edges taper to the wing tips for a perfect balance of power delivery, stability, twist, and speed. The center strut diameter has also been increased for stiffness and better control in higher winds and jumping. Draft depth has increased substantially and is further forward, providing more "locked-in" power and increased stability. Everyone, including heavier riders, will especially appreciate the immediate "sheet in and go" feel of the MK3, which provides improved low end and upwind performance, as well as strong wind stability and control. Some riders may find that they will now be able to use a wing that's one size smaller in the same wind conditions than they would have previously.

Handle count has been reduced, with repositioned handles in the right locations for maximum performance and comfort. New removable and adjustable Y-handles between the leading edge and strut provide added tune-ability to the wing. A neoprene pad under the front handle adds extra comfort when handling your wing, or luffing while riding swells or waves.

The windows on the Wing Surfer MK3 have been redesigned and repositioned to maximize functionality and safety while reducing their overall size. The new windows are narrower in width and placed further forward toward the leading edge of the wing and closer to the center strut - all but eliminating blind spots. The result is perfect visibility, reduced weight, and a smaller package when storing or transporting your wing. A new coil leash design with a smaller, lighter, and easier to secure wrist attachment is standard as is a new and improved carry bag and pump.

Finally, new internal reinforcements and advancements have been made in seam construction, especially in high load areas such as strut to leading edge connection and strut to canopy stress points - all contributing to a stronger and longer-lasting wing. Weight reduction was a factor in the design of the Wing Surfer MK3, but there must be a balance between weight saving, functionality, and durability. The Wing-Surfer MK3 meets this challenge without compromise by perfectly providing a dynamic, responsive, powerful, and long-lasting wing that will suit first-timers equally as well as it will suit the aspiring professional.Session after session.

Hey ARaz,

Whilst there is a more usable power and much stiffer frame on the MKiii, I wouldn't want to be quoted as saying the 5.3m MKiii has the power of the 6.0m MKii. But the pump and profile stability is amazing. While there is a bunch of changes that you can see, the bigger changes (and more important ones) you can not see. The weight saving and tighter feel definitely helps with pumping.

However, I often use smaller wings than others lighter than me and I ride smaller foils also and I get up earlier and go faster, so the best way to get up and going earlier on a smaller Wing is still achieved through practice. But I would also say you should find the MKiii gives you more bottom end bang for your buck.

Ride safe,

JB

The entire canopy and frame structure is more supported and firmer than ever. There is nil leech flutter and an instant feel. The "Y" handles can be removed and used to bridge the gap if you wish (one or both). They are super easy to remove and re-attach. Yes the new coil leash has the double back style of fast one handed application. Super fast and easy to do. Getting the right balance of dihedral and LE volume is critical to achieve balance and power with out compromising top end performance. Some brands out there are beach balls in a hard "V". This has its positives, but also is very limiting. The MKiii is a great balance to give that bottom end and frame structure but without losing agility and performance. The more aggressive "V" is easy to see, but not stupid looking like some other wings out there..

Ride safe,

JB

None of this gear has officially launched, so you must all stay quiet about it! Theoretically you shouldn't be able to find anything about the S26 line. March 18th all will be revealed. We gave DJ some sample gear as he's a key market tester, legend and Naish TR. Your local dealers all know about the Carbon masts and S26 wing details.

Ride safe,

JB

I know the S25 6m well and I now have the new S26 5.3 so it will be interesting to see how it compares..

Maybe this afternoon I'll get a chance to try it..

There is slightly more V.. and there is more canopy tension which give a more solid and more powerful feel when pumping.. There is also slightly less flapping or fluttering when sheeting out or depowering the wing.
