no cracks were a standard feature of the 2022 model, it gives some kind of flexy feeling ![]()

"Quiet a bit of tail rocker " well I'm definitely not interested as I've spend too much time making mast plate wedges to get rid of tail rocker on my fanatic boards. Good for some foils maybe but not Armstrong, lift,Unifoil etc

You say that but a friend who uses Signature foils just got the 4'7 and was blown away how good. he was worried when saw the rocker on mine as need to use wedge on old Sky surf but somehow the rocker just works. I was suprised when I first used mine as was on a custom with very flat rocker just a bit of nose kick before. This shape goes against what o thought I wanted but Sky has nailed it especially in waves and chop. if you can give one a demo ![]()
"The rising level in wing foiling led us inevitably to constructions used in Fanatic's Windsurfing division" and prices too.
leepasty sorry for leaving topic BUT could you please share your experience regarding:
1. "soft" harness lines rather than tube-covered ones if you briefly tried both ? (I do use the Ion adjustable ones but just started using a harness at all)
2. fixing wing leash @ belt/harness - did you come up with this solution not to mess up with the harness line ?
appreciate any input !!
thanks in advance !

I've had 5'-5" for a few weeks . This is the bigger brother . Pretty similar to my 2022 TE 5-6 , apx 1kg heavier but much stronger . Slightly different hull shape , inch shorter . Boxes more forward & Handel ( biggest improvement ) plus foot strap positions finally in right spot. I got a better launch . I'm a up hauler and had similar stability in the 5-6 but it seemed to release easier, touch down contact seemed to be less , but in all honestly conditions were terrible so hard to give a fair review. I went out with 2 Sup foil guys that could barely launch as the wind and swell was running 45 degress against each other , which even forced me to gybe downwind in 20+ knots of wind to keep offshore. Big question ? is it better than the 5-6 ...... let's take away hull shape and weight difference, the forward mount boxes for my Cabrinha 800 was a good thing plus when I drove the nose in riding too high I had some breathing space to recover ....... better than the 5'-6" mmmmm regardless I survived. Here is a couple of videos to see what I was talking about . Foil wise I was on the Cabrinha 800 HA , No Limitz 85cm mast & Kujira 158 rear (rear wing of the year) . Killer combo and my favorite prone set up as well. I'm 89kg

Obviously you can improve stability, release, balance etc. on the water.... but once its up on foil surely you're going to feel that extra kilogram. I suppose the boxes moved forward would help the swing weight but you're going to feel it getting up on foil and in turns.
Were the old ones breaking? Perhaps with all the new jumps they just have to go to windsurf/sandwich construction. It does make me think that we'll be heading towards diverging strapped and strapless boards. I ride strapless only and there's no way I'd want a board a kilo heavier now... no amount of improved design would make me feel different. I cant be alone.... but equally there must be people out there breaking boards jumping who are desperate for full sandwich construction.

as the 2022 standard Sky Wings weighed in about 500gr more than the TE versions I expect the 2023 to finally end up lighter.
My 5.6 TEs are/were 6.8/6.7 kgs (first one being replaced due to bottom delamination) and the standard red ones I was given real world weights around 7.2/7.3 kg.
I understand the argument of increased strain for the Style and (less for the) Surf Line but guess they should have choosen a lighter construction for the free line. Looking forward to the 2024 release ![]()
Deck looks nice, jury still out on the tail rocker. Will other foil brands work ok without shimming?
Was there a weight for various sizes given? I only made it about a minute into that Worthing video![]()
Just don't see the attraction to these hyper expensive production boards, who knows what's hidden under that paint.

Not as light as you'd think but it's a good thing imo. Not that it's heavy or anything but I think they made the right choice going with a more robust construction.
This board feels really solid which give it less twitchy feel while on foil.
I logged 2 sessions on the 2023 TE 4'11 and I must say it felt better than I expected.
Very stable, at 75L for my 88kg I thought I'd have to stink bug it but I could get away knee start.
The deck concave naturally guides your feet to the right trim which made it very easy to get comfortable quickly when flying.
Really good acceleration and easy to pump and release. I believe the tail rocker has a lot to do with that. Board flies natural with GoFoil RS 1150+14FTL with mast 2" from the back of the box but also with the F-one Seven Seas 1200 NoLimitz mast all the way forward. Felt great with both but very different.
I rode the 2022 models from 75 to 95 and I was not impressed at all. If you see a slew of those 2022 on the used market for cheap, don't be tempted to buy. Go for the 2023 instead.

Hi
i prefer rope harness line as I doesn't get tangled round your head on tacks etc and is out the way when getting on board etc. also falls down on both tacks. I started using wing leash on waist belt as it's better for passing wing behind back on tacks and when wave riding. I actually like coiled wrist leash best but it's no good using harness lines or for behind back tacks

I'm concerned about the decision to move the box forward. My Axis setup is all the way back on my 2022 board. That said, it looks like they moved the inserts forward too. Pretty obvious in the back inserts. Not so sure about the front inserts. Looks like the stance is narrower too. I find it super wide on the 2022 boards.
Anyone ridden the new 85?
I have the prior 95 and wondering how the 85 would compare at 90kg
Also @burchas...have you ridden the new fanatic Vs the fone rocket wing? They are very different shapes with the fanatic being a lot thicker and tubbier

At 90kg I would still prefer the Style 75L. I got use to it within 15min of the first session. switching back to the 2022 95L
I felt like going from a sports car to a truck.
I have ridden both new fanatic Style and F-one Rocket wing at 75L and it's a tough choice between the Narrow outline of the Style and the thinner tail section of the Rocket which gives you a more direct feel for the foil. Both boards are very well tuned but feel completely different.
I chose to go with Rocket wing ASC 5'0 x 23" x 3.7" 60L. Doesn't need a lot of wind to get going but on super windy days it's such a pleasure to ride.

What do you ride in gusty 12kts? Surely these are too small at 90kg?
I'm not affiliated with any brands, 2 years winging, but if you're spending 2.6K AUD on a new board, I would highly recommend the Kalama E3 wing-foil-sup boards. I'm 105kgs and I've owned Armie FG boards 75/85L, Fanatic Sky Wing 2021/2022 85/95L, and the Kalama has the volume in the right places, doesn't tip you off like the sky wing boards.
I made the change to a 104L 5'4 and am so glad I did, the tracks are forward like the armie board, I ride gofoil foils winging, mast almost all the way forward, so board feels much smaller like a 75/85L board, but the board is way more stable and the chimes allow hard carving.
If you can demo one you won't be disappointed. There's something special about the design that's for sure and wish I found this board without having to go through all the pain and cost of trying all the others.
I haven't tried the new Fanatics btw, but I don't need too now, I've stopped chasing the ideal board as I've found it :)
Oh it's light too 6.55kgs.
Demo everything if you can

I wouldn't have an issue with the either of these 75L boards as my one quiver board. The 60L is more tricky in light wind but if the gusts are consistent is still very doable. I would usually ride my Slingshot Wing Raider 90L in light wind but I haven't used it since I got the Rocket. It's up for sale.
I have the 22 95L generic purple/ maroon model Fanatic nice board and all but the weight is my only complaint bit on the heavy side for a small 95L wing board! be curious if they shaved some weight off the new 23 generic model, hope so
Does anyone have the weights of these boards, looking for 55L and 65L weights. Would love to demo this board

Hi, I have the 55l Sky Style TE, it's around 6kg with footstraps.

I'm not 100% convinced 1kg is bad and you will want the lighter board 100% of the time. Probably if you jump and do loop, 360's 720' etc.I own an heavy board and a light board, and I feel the heavier board maintains better line in rougher condition, keep more momentum on flat section to reconnect etc. I do jump and I feel it if I want to whip my board around, or when I want to snap a turn quickly on a wave I agree. So for average joe as I am, I do think some weight could be appreciate, it doesn't seem all negative.

Hi, I have the 55l Sky Style TE, it's around 6kg with footstraps.
Thanks. Ah that is dissapointing my quatro wingdrifter 90L is 5.2kg. Dislike how common it is for these companies to put TBA on their spec sheets for weight and never update it.

I was surprised too that it wasn't lighter, but it's the one that pro riders use for jumping and tricks, so I think they the weight is needed in order to get the desired strength and not break. To be honest it feels really light when jumping, but I was used to a heavier board anyways :)
