Looking to get a 48 or 54L. How is the durability of the bamboo construction? Is the extra weight noticeable?

I was considering this board and asked a similar question with responses here:

Wound up getting something else (Appletree v2), but the FOne is a very good looking board. The carbon upcharge is considerable on these!

Thanks a lot! Yeah the carbon version is expensive...
I do have a 48L and I love it!!! Super strong, the 2022 is much stronger than 2021. Depend what you do and why you need extra-light board. For pumping, I guess lighter/stiffer is always better, but when carving down windswell/surf, a bit heavier got more drive and keep momentum. The downside is you cannot whip the nose as hard, but I do appreciate some weight of my heavier Rocket Wing Asc 60L version vs the lighter 48L Bamboo in some occasion.
I have the 5'2" 70l which has just been released. I have had it for a week but only used it once as I ended up with Covid. I used it on the river in Perth, winds were gusty as usual, 14 to 18 knots, with a 7 Seas 1200 foil. My other board is the F One 5'5" V3. So all I can give are early thoughts which are; gave me a little difficulty getting on the board in relatively flat water to start, once on the foil though it seems to do everything better. This includes going upwind, and gybing, and I swap feet with a touch down and this was no issues. The small baord area does make a differrence.Once I get used to getting up I can see this being my main driver. Will keep my other board (until I change my mind as I have said this so many times and then changed anyway) as it is more stable and in light winds will get me home. Also the 5'5" is easier to generate board speed in marginal winds to get on the foil.
I am around 85 kgs.
F One products are on the more expensive side but are very well put together in my humble opinion. Performance while being very easy to ride. When changing between Phantom 1080, 7 Seas 1200 and Eagle 990 they are feel very familiar.
Due to personal circumstances I'm having to sell it. Used 12x only, I'm in the UK.

Thanks! Any dings for you yet? As far as I can tell, it look like the carbon version is only a bit lighter.

Good to know. Yes, the V3 is similar to my Armstrong FG. The hull shape is significantly better for early takeoff.

Thanks, I'd consider it if you were local!
extra sizes 70 and 80L coming
No bottom handle?
How's that working on the 80 litre 5'4 that's 26 wide?!

Just carry by the foil rig--hand on fuse, nearer to the foil.
Hi Crew
I have the Rocket Wing S V3 5'4' 80L and love it. A lot smaller board than my Rocket Wing V3 5'5 88L. The drop deck is awesome you get more feel and I find I have stopped boiling, it seems you can sense where the foil is in the water column better. Less windage with the tapered nose and in the waves it releases very well when you touch down. I have ordered a 4'10 and 5" S version for Nina my wife. Disclaimer I am the F-one dealer in WA
. I have a 5'2' and 5'4' in the WA warehouse and we have a demo van running around with please of gear to try. ww.wingingwa.com.au. The website just went live and still cleaning the details up.

Thank you for the photos! A rep for F-One I know is getting the 70L soon. Interesting that the 80L has a gore-tex vent plug--I imagine it's the same for the 70L. So I also imagine that the construction is somewhat different to the sub-54L sizes. I like the idea of not having to deal with a vent plug.
ahh - my mistake, i see above there IS a bottom handle on the 5'4 / 80 litre!
RE: A lot smaller board than my Rocket Wing V3 5'5 88L.
At 90kg (and winter 5mm wetty, boots etc) i fear it will be too small for me as my do-it-all board (dropping from my 95)

Is the vent auto-goretex, or is the plug screw type?

From the sticker that come on the board, it seems to be a screw type vent.@paullweller2, no ding, not even from hitting the side of the board at occasion with a metal harness hook. I broke my wing hook and used a metal one for a month and nothing to report.
I have a Rocket S 70l in Sydney if anyone wants to try, board have always been great and super durable.
They have the standard screw but I upgrade to the Goretex version on day 1!

Thanks for the PM! I appreciate the offer... I'm in Maui.

So you just drilled it and glued in a goretex plug? I have to drive down from high elevation all the time so the plug is a big deal for me.
Second season wingfoiling looking to downside from the rocket 105ltr. I am 83kg but riding with wetsuit. Debating between the standard rocket wing 88 L or the surf version at 80 ltr. I ride in 20-30 mph with some swell and want a board that will float me. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I am 86kg, second season, slow learner, and had one, short go on 70S. Straight up in flatter water, harder in chop but thought I'd hack it with practice.. Big lesson was in big lulls and chop realised it would be very hard and tiring to slog back if wind dropped.
I have the Rocket 88l and Rocket S 80. 88l is slightly negative volume for me, no wind and it sinks. With little wind no issues. 80l is fine when there is wind and I think rides better. In ocean surf conditions it is more difficult to water start which is another consideration.
I am 85 kg plus wetsuit. Either board would work. 88 easier and bigger range. 80 12 knots plus and fine. 80 is much easier for me than 70 R S which I also know.
In my case I take the 88 in 10 to 20 knots and in 15 plus the 80.
