Hey everyone,
I had a light wind wing session on my dw board after a long period of only riding my sinker and came away a bit frustrated on foot/foil position. Does anyone have a tips or tricks. For reference I'm an 70kg intermediate/advance rider with a 105L KT Dragonfly Crossing. Primary questions:
1) Do people prefer to stand more forward and move the foil up in the tracks, be in the middle of the pad, or further back. My board is buoyant enough for me weight my positioning doesn't make much of a difference for balance.
2) The board is pretty narrow. With these long boards do people use a wider stance and put their feet basically on the rails or are people using a more centered stance? Feels like it likes to pump better with by back foot centered at least.
3) Any tricks to make sure you stand up and put your feet in a consistent spot?
Thanks!
I put my mast at the same position for winging, sup foiling and down winding (with paddle).
I try to stand centered on the board with both feet and in a pretty narrow stance (hip to shoulder width).
The footpad on my board consist of 8 different pads with an inch space between them, so I can use that as a reference. A mate also gave the advice to put the board upside down (level), and use a string/rope to determine where the pressure point of the front wing is compared to the board and then mark that spot with a piece of tape or marker on the deck. Have not tried it. Think it's comparable to the "de Wild" method, but adds the marking your board on the deck.
