I have the Doutone foil wing and was admiring a Duotone Unit the other day.
What I was aware of was the better wing profile created.
I have trouble with the Foil Wing when there is too much wind.
The wind gets on top of the sail a little too easily.
Qs
Has anyone done the retro fit?
How did you do it?
What is the result?
Was it worth it?
What exactly did it fix?

The Unit does behave better with more power, I just don't know if that is only because of that rope. For a quick test you could use a strap form your roof rack, go round the wing and pull it tight. Anything else would involve sewing something to the wing along the central batton.
My fix was to sell the 2019 wing and buy the Unit :)
What do you mean by retro fit?
DJ,
The one I have does not have a Draft Control Rope along the line of the boom.

Blurb says: "for easy handling and performance
The Draft Control Rope is a Duotone feature which makes the handling easy and ensures 100% performance, the experienced foil winger can even pull it to depower the wing."
Otherwise the wings are the basically the same. I appear to have complicated the thread by mistaking the Unit for the Echo.
The Echo has it, but I thought that the unit I looked at last week was a Unit.
So my question is: Has anyone tried to add a Draft Control Rope to a Foil Wing?
I thought you wanted to retro fit an Echo wing with a Unit strut and lose the boom.. ![]()
Nah, love the boom.
..except the other day I was wondering about replacing the boom with and A frame (like a hangglider).
I will not ask here if anyone has done that!
