I have 2 for sale on SB and there are a couple of others all at excellent low prices.
Necomers could not do any better or am I missing something?
What price do guys think is reasonable for Slicks in sick condition?
What are you replacing them with?
This sport is definitely still in the "gear chasing" phase where we all think the latest upgrade/model is going to drastically improve our skills and fun factor. Guilty as charged!![]()
Yeah saw your ad definetly fair price. Ive still got my Slicks but man the choice over the next few months is mental hitting the market . New Slicks , New Takumas , New Norths , New Cloud 9's ect ect it just goes on . I'm waiting till our winter and let the wind blow out and all the Euro & US stock hits our shores. Then I'll make a choice , big upgrade coming from me.

Dlabs, as advised in my add
I was looking hard for a used Slick 5.5 about 2 months ago, hardly any on the market (Seabreeze, FB marketplace, Gumtree etc) but I was able to get one for a reasonable price, then of course there's now 4 or 5 of them on here for less ??
As Piros said, new gear incoming will probably be worth waiting for, where are we now, Version 4s of some wings?
It is exciting (but expensive) to be involved in this evolving sport ![]()
I bought one as a beginner, thinking I'd have more responsive roll control or something. That was before holding a wing in my hands for real and knowing that all the steering is just moving your hands up/down forward/away not so much rotating your wrists.
It also didn't come with the boom, which threw me off. Found the boom in stock 2 weeks later. It didn't fit in the bag that came with the wing. Later on, it didn't fit in my fanatic sky wing air travel bag either. Maybe I could have walked through the airport like some Wind Wizard with my boom but the TSA would probably consider it a weapon.
I actually quite like pull of this wing, but it's so clunky and heavy compared to my F-One strikes, or Ocean Rodeo Glide. On a gusty day that boom smashes down onto my board - the wing likes to do that seemingly more than others.
I'd sell mine too if it was totally beat up and worth keeping around as a backup wing for the $300 I'd get for it.

The Slicks have only been out for a year, so if yours is worth less than $750 now you must have really given it a thrashing
Duotone fumbled around for a while with the original, echo, unit and slick. Too many models too quickly, most with the problematic separate boom which added complexity and weight. None were that well received here, especially for use in the waves. That has changed with the latest Unit with the attached mini boom handles, then the Dlab (that looks interesting). Superseded models always drop in value especially if seen to be inferior to the new model. Good luck on your sale.

hopefully they up the durabilty of the canopy, loved all my 2020/2021 Units 4m and 5m until the canopy bags out in a few months of fun fully powered sessions
Very surprised at the negative comments as here about 80% are Slick users and rave about them. The boom has been a huge benefit to many learning manouravers. As such hard to sell here as most have them.

Using a Slick to learn new manoeuvres is almost cheating. Struggled learning tacks with the old unit, fumbling for the handles. Instant success with the Slick, I'm guessing the new unit rigid handles would be similar, except for those sharp corners of the handles.

Goes to show how both opinion and personal preference can vary so much. Very happy with my Slicks for my style of riding, but I also understand why others might quickly find fault with them. They are very well represented in my neck of the woods (US east coast).
Two years from now we'll all have spent a bunch of money upgrading to the newest crispy "must have" flavor of hand wing![]()
You'll have to let us know how the D-labs work out for you
I have the 5m dlab, switched from previous Unit 5m model. Dlab is stiff, really stiff, even at 5,5 psi which I run for lowend. Goes upwind like no one and much better highend than the previous gen. although might have lost a bit of lowend or I just suck at it
Very light in neutral when going downwind in onshore conditions. Handles are great, A+, stiff as, but haven't smashed my board yet with them, so MMV. Middle strut valve is very stupid esp. in freezing temps (hardens in low temps and pain in the ass to open), airport less so, but overly complicated, der geermans seem to have a need to rethink everything, wonder how they have not reinvented a conical or two-part spoon or something to "improve" things ![]()
All in all, I love it, but I guess the availability from the factory is the problem now.
Makes me wonder if the current Slick boom has a future? Have there been any news about an updated Slick? As far as I can tell, it was super popular last year, so I hope there will be a revision that still uses the same boom.
I had my wingfoiling sessions this year on Wednesday and Thursday and I was pleased to find that my home made carbon boom performed really well. I think the stresses of foiling on water must be lower than on snow with skis as I didn't notice any boom flex while sailing. 3D printing boom ends is definitely a good option if you want a carbon boom for under $20 (or the Duotone booms are out of stock).
