Looking to upgrade my gear from my beginner stuff i foil a lot in the Bay (short WindSwell and Chop) and i enjoy carving on small waves will that be sacrificed going to a HA foil around a 1400cm front wing. Thanks for any input
Short answer is yes they don't carve as tight as mid-aspect wings, but you gain in speed, glide and efficiency. A shorter fuselage and a good smaller tail will enable it to still carve nicely.
BTW if you're looking at HA wings then you're looking at much smaller surface area than 1400... In HA wings, surface area doesn't matter much, there are many other variables such as the foil section which is far more important. You'll be surprised how small you can go with HA wings, just need a polished technique to get them working well

+1 to this. I went from LA 1700 to HA 1300 and found the 1300 had more lift than the 1700 LA. Now riding HA800 for moderate wind and 1000HA for light wind. The 800HA carves hard and can turn on a dime.
