I've been through some gear over the last 2 years trying some of the major brands and currently ride just one foil around 850 sq in just about everything.
I love trying new gear and have been hearing good things about the 850s from my mates so borrowed a demo set from my local shop in Sydney to experience it for myself.
I record most of my sessions however with changing conditions it can be hard to compare one foil to another and measure performance and individual Differences in any way other than how something feels. A mate of mine shared some data from one of his sessions off the airport runway at kyeemah in Sydney. I thought what a great idea to put 1 foil up against another in the same conditions, on the same day to compare how they perform and share the data. I hope to do more of this in the future as new foils appear in search of a richer ride. First foil out of the gates is the code 850s x 150 tail on an 850 mast.

Im 85 kg dripping wet in a steamer and impact vest and only on the water in 12 knots plus. I ride 2023- 4.0m or 5.5m unit and an axis 75 litre froth. Absolutely love this sport. I use waterspeed and Strava on an Apple Watch. Before anyone chimes in about the accuracy of an Apple Watch I'm not looking at competing against anyone else's data just an idea of what I can do on a foil at my location with my measure.
essentially I'm working between 2 landmarks. Flat out gybe flat out gybe for approx half an hour. It's a flat water speedway with more than the odd jellyfish ?? to keep things entertaining. On this day it was gusting 20 knots and I was on the 4.0 unit. Enjoy the data.

I also had this set up out in marginal 12 knot ne wind and waves with the 5.5 dlab and the waves are where it really comes into its own.
Without rattling on about this and that the best way to sum it up is "balanced". It does everything well. No surprises, no faults, no downside. Low stall speed stiff mast. It's the perfect 1 foil quiver for a fully kitted dripping wet 85 kg rider. So good in the waves and reasonably quick topping out at 22 knots or 41kmh.
Not surprisingly Where it really excels is in the waves. So smooth, so predictable and you can push as hard as you like without feeling like you'll get bucked off! Only negative is no 95 cm mast option.
Big plus for anyone thinking about one of these is the build quality, the proof will be how it lasts but for now the build quality looks excellent . All carbon so corrosion is not a consideration and the covers are included. Check out the foiling avs on the files attached. The data does include the walk into deep water however even so Not bad for a wave foil!

Great post enjoyed reading, and real believable figures, great speed for a wave foil! I've demoed the 850s a couple of times, and think it's the best wave riding foil I've used, booked another demo for a longer session

I order 850S blind because demo is not available where I live. I use board designed by Marcus (Sunova x Casey) and like most of them so I just trust them. :)

Code foils comes late to the game so they know what is best as a system. They go with the front wing with integrated front part of the fuselage and use strong geometric locking to the mast which is the best system performance wise and quite future proof.

I'm sure you'll love it. Agree with your thoughts on the pedigree and being an Aussie I love the idea of an Aussie based brand. I'll try to demo some of the others in the range in the near future and post here
