There are scammers but it is less infested than some places. While people like yourself with a limited post history may be legit, a good indicator is whether they have an extensive post history on the site and have sold multiple items - that is generally a good sign. I have never had an issue so far.
A good check is a reverse image search through Google - if the same picture appears in lots of different places then it may have been scraped and used to create a fake listing.
Less scammers here than anywhere and it's pretty obvious if they're not a water sports person once u get talking
