Hi All - spent the first year on a 125l 6'4" naish s26 hover board (+25l, i'm probably 100kg incl gear, 95kg without). Using Armstrong foils.

For my next board, confused if i should go down 1 size or 2 sizes... from +25l to either +0l or +15l.
-Looking at switching to the Armstrong FG 99l (5'8") or 115l (5'11").
-Open to keeping the 125l for light wind days if going down 2 sizes to a neutral board is the better "long-term" option.
-I've seen a few comments saying you should avoid a neutral board.
-Most of my riding is 10-30kn winds, gusty inland lakes.
-Foiling gybes consistently, working on foiling foot switches.

Thanks for your wisdom!

I'm 90 kgs and ride the 75 L FG in lite winds, so neutral volume for you is definitely doable. Today in 10-15 knots I rode a 39 L. It was doable but spent a ton of energy getting the board out of the water. After riding for an hour, was totally pooped. My. Advice is to borrow a friends board before buying.

Yes +1 to Pasquales, borrow if you can it will nail your decision. I think it's horses for courses and why we need to be really careful reading / watching reviews as we are all different body shapes and sizes, ages, levels of fitness, have different local conditions and different riding styles
I'm 65 kgs and ride a 65l board, I absolutely love it in every way, I can get up on the board in a steady 3-5 knot breeze, so I can slog back, I can balance on my knees and slog back in even less wind (have developed a lot of inner muscle doing this) and once up it's better than 3 straight lines of coke

Go for an Armstrong FG board if you want to keep your foils and especially to move to HA's. Longer FG tracks make a big difference in foil/board compatibility.

I am 76-78kg without wetsuit and gear; went down from a 90l to 60l (FG 4'10"). Needed 5 sessions to improve my 'stink bug' technique before I felt confident in going out in very light winds. Had a few frustrating sessions that ended with a long paddle home when the wind shut down. The 60l is not as friendly as the 90l for slogging or sitting down and sailing back home. It also is more difficult to get up on foil until you get comfortable on it in light winds.

At first I had doubts whether I should have gone for 75l but I now have no regrets at all. It feels so good when you are up foling on a small board. I don't think I will bother going smaller any further or getting a true sinker around half of my weight.
