Hi All
Any advice for preventing wing tip dropping into water (particularly when kneeling or standing before flying on the foil)?
I've got a 6m Duotone Echo - so it's got a large wing span.
Is it more likely to dip going upwind? Wondering whether I should be pointing more downwind but sometimes it seems random. Thanks
The minute you feel the wing tip hitting the water or getting close just drop your rear hand and the wing will suddenly fly back up away from the water.

As I am about to begin with wingfoiling: what is the safest way to fall? In windfoiling it's: never let go of the boom at all cost, and it really works. What is the golden rule for windfoiling?
This helped me to avoid (most) jacknife falls where the foil rolls up into you.Works for winging and surffoil:
Like SUP and Surf, keep legs somewhat straight to fall away from board.
Never step off your board when u lose balance.

Golden rule is wear a helmet and a buoyancy/impact vest when you are starting out. You are going to get the occasional jackknife and it is the most likely way that you are going to get hit by the foil. As you get better the chance of this happening reduces.
If you bail out, try to bail out 45 degrees either side of the nose, or 45 degrees to the rear. If you bail out over the nose the board will rise up to meet you as you unload the foil. Similarly if you bail out sideways, the board may roll and the unloaded foil can rise up to meet you.
Oh wow - that video made me feel ill. Had my first real session on the foil board on Sunday (20knts plus). Got to say it was totally unnerving with some stacks very close to the foil. Went and put a helmet on halfway through the session. Flipping the board on its side was a bit of a problem. Particularly being a newbie and not really understanding how it behaves. Now I've seen that video - might be some hardly used gear up for sale soon. Haha.
I do wonder whether keeping hold of the wing during a stack might help clear the board.
