Got the kit, keen to get going, any advice on spots and wind directions. I'm coming from a kite and sup background, the kit is learner friendly so should make the process more fun.

any and all advice appreciated

Hi, I'm a Bunbury winger and windsurfer. Koombana Bay is great for it as it has nice flat water. SW to Wly wind directions are good. E to SEly works well too, but is a bit gusty. I suggest you avoid Sly until proficient as it's an offshore. Pelican Point can be foiled too, but it is a bit shallow in places.
Most importantly, don't use too small a board while learning. I suggest 20-30l above your body weight.
I learned to wing in Koombana Bay, I started in December.
There will be a few of us out this arvo.

Hi Stretchy, cheers for the reply,
yep I'm 70kg and went for a sunova aviator 115l. got the obligatory 5m wing??

and went for a cheap alloy foil at this point as I'm sure it will get abused.

If you don't mind I'll pop down this arvo and say hello.

Sounds like a good combo DD. Drop by and say g'day, I reckon there'll be 3 or 4 of us rigging up from 2pm on depending on wing.
cheers
Rob
