(kook beginner) Review- Aztron foil gear
I thought I'd put this up here in case anyone else was looking at their gear which on sale is cheap AF (Looks like the same prices are available at the moment from their [NZ] website)
I'm 68kg, 5'8
Kook surfer
No windsurf experience
I had two lessons with wingfoil nelson a year ago, managed to get on foil on the last lesson (awesome lessons, recommend)
I bought:
Rocket 1800h foil
Rocket 6'6 board
I already had an ozone wasp 4m gen 1 wing (looks like those go for not much these days)
I've had 4 sessions out now.
First session I got on foil on natural stance
Fourth session I got on foil on goofy stance
I'm getting to foil within a few seconds of standing on natural now.
The setup seems pretty fast, little bit scary, but fun
I don't know how it turns yet because I can't turn
It seems to go upwind mint
It pumps (I have no idea how well)
The gear seems solid (if a bit more agricultural than the fancy Armstrong stuff) everything bolts together nicely, the carry case and allen key for the bolts work well.
I bought a shorter mast for the local estuary (50 bucks)
In summary, I have 0 regrets about buying the setup, because it cost less than a second hand axis foil, and gets me out on the water learning how to foil.
PS I have no association with Aztron.
Happy foiling

It's still for sale, I think it's a great deal if you don't care about having trendy gear. Resale won't be great, but i also don't care (might just keep it to teach a mate).
PS I have no association with aztron.
