I currently have a bsc 1060 ( area 1803 volume 2800 ) but keep hearing the png 1300 is better for light winds ( area 1712 volume 1895 ) . Obviously it's wider but it's area and volume are less . What makes the biggest difference and has anyone used both and got a the answer as to which is the best light wind flat water wing weapon ?

I have both and love both of them.
The BSC feels a little looser. Gets up early (around 10 knots). I have a tendency to use it when I want to play on waves in light winds. But it's not a super turny foil.
The PGN 1300 gets up a little earlier but has a less manouverable feel. Keep in mind that we're not talking heaps here. Might be half or 1 knot of windspeed for flying earlier on the 1300 compared to the BSC. Both pump well but the 1300 seems to pump a bit better. The PNG is my go to when it's marginal.
Both are really stable and good for learning on. They're not fast either (I can only seem to get about 25km/h tops out of either of them).
There's a lot of overlap between the 2 of them.

I loved the 1060 BSC but then bought the 1050 HPS. I feel I can get on foil about as easily in light winds with the 1050 and it's a heck of a lot more fun, fast and maneuverable. You may want to check out the 1050HPS to add to your collection, I wound up selling my 1060BSC.

Hello,
Concerning the PNG 1300 you can upgrade with ultra short fuze (or crazy short) and 390 anhedral. Faster and easier carving.
I am 87kg and use it from 7-8 knds average with 6m Wing. I prefer its glide compare to the BSC 1060 and get up much earlier than the HPS 1050.
It is a weapon for marginal condition of wind and waves. DW Supers start to use it (I mean, here in France)
