I have the 840 and love it plus it is fast enough for me, Max 19kn so far.
I am tempted to get the 780 but think there may not be a lot of difference, me 74kg.
Anyone tried both and can advise please?

Warwick, Id also like to hear from anyone riding the smaller spitfires. specifically in the surf, around 65 to 75kg.
cheers.

Kristian from Wingsurfer.nl has tested the 720 780 and 840. You can find the review on YouTube:

Thanks Lauren , I have seen this video previously.
Hoping to hear from someone here in Aus proning these smaller Spitfires. Kristen is over 80 kg I think.

I'm also around 70kg.. about to buy a spitfire 840.. how do they go for you? I live in Margs area west oz so plenty of juice in the waves but long pumps inbetween.. wondering if a 780 will be good in the juice but not so good to link waves?

I wouldn't think the spitfire range is suited to prone at all where a pump game is required due to relatively lower aspect design. Surely there are better tools?

Well! lots of speculation but still no actual experience from any responders.
. Ive ordered a 780. Regardless it will be suitable for winging in strong conditions and a slower alternative to my 951. The high speed crashes are a concern, concussive!
The pump ability in the surf prone is my reservation with the 780.
