Hello everyone!
My first post here and looking for some advice!
I am interested in purchasing a foil with the ART PRO 1201 front wing. However, I am uncertain about the optimal components to pair it with. My primary intended usage is for downwind winging, a practice I am already engaged in with a less-than-optimal foil. Additionally, I plan to use it for dock start pumping. To provide some context, I weigh just above 80kg, stand at 182cm, and have gained a good level of comfort with winging.

Probably an ultra short black fuse and a large skinny stab (not the largest but the next size down).
I think you would be better off with a 999
I would consider the 1201 a specialty foil - its big and not that great for turning (amazing for its size, but its big).I'm heavier than you and would only use it on the lightest wind days

or wait for the rest of the art pro range to drop, 1051 sounds like it could be a honey !
Can you paired a 120cm span with the alu mast? Or it requires the HM mast?
The 19mm alu mast is arguably the stiffest mast available depending on who's doing the testing and what they're trying to sell you.

I have had a handful of sessions with the 1201 and a 90cmx19mm mast.
The combo works when in cruize mode.
But if overpowered or there is turbulence in the water funky stuff happens under the board. And it's easy to feel but not always easy to control.
Definitely a big difference in behaviour between the 1201 and my 1050 today.
I found the 1201 to be incredibly well behaved in conditions it has no business being in (mixed chop, current, mixed swell). I use the HM mast and maybe that helps keep it under control but I'm over 92Kgs where it likely makes more of a difference.

I use both the 19mm Alu and the V2 960 carbon mast with my 1201. I also find it's well behaved but you need to push it hard. i.e. keep the foil loaded up. (Especially up wind in bumpy conditions) If you use a +1 shim on the stab this will do the same thing as it increases front foot pressure by pre-loading the foil. (400 / 65 Progressive) It becomes super smooth but you loose a lot of feel. Also using a standard fuse to maximise the pump. I'm going to try an advanced ultrashort and negative shims as I learn more.
