Was just about to pull the trigger on the 999 for the small waves and wind chop at my local spot. Now this made it harder! Will this replace my 1050?
Been waiting for a larger ART in the line up! I LOVE my 890 BSC but the 1060 BSC is a little slow and gets outrun by the swell, was thinking of replacing it with this.
Dying to hear any experience people have had.

999 replaced my 1050 but the 1099 will be a better match for low end.
I've got a the 999 and 799. the 1099 should arrive next week. I'm hoping it will be me go to Sup DW wing
I can't find the specs on the 1099 - can anyone post them here?

F*CK... after getting 999 and 799, i?m gonna prepare the divorce papers. I?m afraid we will not get over a third art wing ![]()

What's the area?
11 something. 1138 or 1158 or there about. It's in my van.
I was thinking about getting an 1150 for the summertime 8 - 12 mph winds.
BUT will the 1099 perform well enough, and on my black fuselage, that I will be happy with this wing?
PS: I bought the 999 for wing-dinging but there hasn't been any wind since October. Rather I have been SUP foiling the 999 to great effect. Everything from 3 feet to 15 feet. People talk about the 999 in small waves but I have found it works GREAT in 8 to 12 foot surf with the right takeoff shape. It will hit 24 to 26 mph and stays DOWN.

What stab? In winging cant reach 40km/h with 420ha stab...

Brother, you need to push harder. without fear ????????
Size comparison. Makes me a touch nervous because they are visually so similar but the water will be the true differentiator.

A big step up in glide. Looks don't tell the story.
I finally said good bye to my art999 and got a art1099. Pretty sick... Progressive soft lift, you stall at crazy low speed, it may feel just a little bit less acceleration, but as fast as 999. Did the other day 39km/h without pushing 100%. I just miss more carve feelings with these big ARTs (dont have this problem with my art799). I'm thinking on trying a progressive rear. Until the moment only used them with 420ha.
Today I used the art799 in low wind conditions 12-18knts, and it is surprisingly reactive and it has such a great lift. It is more technical and nervous than with strong winds. Just missing more pumping and glide, but u cant request this to a 730cm area wing. I also used it for one surfing session, and again it surprissed me its great lift, but it requires a more technical and better surfer, not me. I was wondering that may be art899 would be a better choice for an allround foil wing.

You're hurting your surfing using the 420 tail. Switch to the Progressive tails.

Totally. 420 hardly carves. Try the 350p or 375p

Thanks for comments!! Being 75kg, for surfing and winging in all kind of winds, would you also recommend 375 or may be 400?
Been waiting for a larger ART in the line up! I LOVE my 890 BSC but the 1060 BSC is a little slow and gets outrun by the swell, was thinking of replacing it with this.
Dying to hear any experience people have had.

If you like the 890 BSC get the 880 HPS you'll love it and a much better all round foil compared to the ART's

I'd second that advice...

I also ride the 1060 and 890 (winging mostly) and have been starting to find that at 70kg with my 6m strike that the 890 can get up and go in pretty light winds (albeit with a bit more work than the 1060). This has me questioning if I still need the 1060 and if I should swap it out.I was leaning towards something that can still get up in lighter winds (10-12kt) but not feel slow. Thinking about the 1050, 999 or even 1099. I was hesitant to add the 1099 to the list but since I'm winging, I'm looking for the ability to get up on foil, go fast and glide through tacks (work in progress) and jibes. Selling the 1060 would also allow me to simplify the quiver and sell the red fuse (and use that money for more wing gear). Unfortunately, there's no way to demo any Axis gear where I live in the US (SC). Thoughts?
I have 3 sessions on the 1099/Crazy short/82 carbon/375P stab. I am 85kgs. It gets going easier than the 999. Turning is definitely slower. Glide is retarded good. This part makes it all well worthwhile. We have fickle winter wind here in Nevada now. On my last session the game was wait for a puff, get up on foil, begin pumping across small lake into no wind as far as my fitness allowed, come down, paddle back and repeat. Full body exertion. This thing pumps like a dream. I think a short fuse(longer) will turn it into a pump monster. I will try my 380 speed tail too. I have been riding it strapless because its easier to wear shoes with my drysuit. I believe that strapping at least my front foot will give me way more drive for turning. It says "not for jumping" right on the wing so I probably won't put the rear strap on. I have been moving my feet alot trying to narrow up stance for pumping and gliding. This wing has allowed me to flag out the ding more than ever and just glide and pump around effortlessly. I am certain that this is going to help me learn how to downwind foil without a wing. It is an absolute weapon to have in the quiver(which is getting ridiculously overcrowded).

I'm 68kg and started out on a 890BSC.. when my wife stole that, I got an 880 which was faster and not really much compromise on the bottom end.. I've since got an 899 which I'm finding myself using exclusively for winging, surfing or whatever.. I'm now waiting for a 1099 (due this week) to compliment it at the bottom end .. that'll (hopefully) be my 2 foil quiver for the year.. 1099 for surfing small waves, lighter wind downwinding, light wind winging and dockstarts, and the 899 for windier winging, surfing decent waves and howling downwinders ..
indecently, I took the 880 out again the other day, surfing and winging in good waves.. the top speed was noticeably (perceptibly??) slower than 899 but it pumped way easier (for my technique) .. after 2 hours tho the speed difference was forgotten ..
- Having used the 899 for 3 months exclusively, my pumping technique had been refined to a point I could pump the 880 way better than I had before..
I had one surf on the 890 recently and I found it very hard to readjust to its cadence / feel etc .. it wasn't worse or better, just completely different..
in summary.. I think it's worth having foils from the same style, eg in Axis range for my weight it would be..
740 / 890 BSC,
830/ 930 HPS or
899 / 1099 ART ..
