I tested out the APF1675 winging with my 86L DW board and 4.5M XPS wing in some very light wind.

I didn't really buy this foil with winging in mind, but it was interesting to try out. The amount of low speed lift is staggering. I fell off the back my first attempt. This foil demands good front leg strength and pressure when getting on foil (1 to 3 seconds) then it levels out and she cruises! Insane amount of glide considering the low end. Tacks are sort of slow motion and really lets you think through what is happening. Almost like foiling in half speed.

Pumping through transitions in zero wind is no problem at all. It digs out of stall zone like climbing a stair stepper, it feels insane. Each front leg pump just levels the board up and speed increases.

I really have never ridden a foil like this and it will take some time to get used to it, but I think it will actually make me a stronger and more precise foiler. Will report back after more sessions, maybe back to back with MA1750.

What tail were you using?

Pump 202 no shim. Tried 140 with blue shim and it wasn't as good winging in the flats. Maybe no shim would have worked alright.

Looking for a big wing to go with a Gong Crusader 7'6" and as I already have a load of Armstrong HS foils, two masts and a selection of stabs I have been looking at the MA1750 and Performance mast. The only thing holding me back is the cost.
Want the big wing for small wave SUP foil, light wind winging and getting into DW.
Interested to hear your thoughts on which foil is best for all these activities, the MA1750 or the pump foil?
I love the carving feel of the HS series and would like to have that feeling as far as possible in the the new kit.

For maximum low end, and max time on foil, the 1675 is the way to go. For winging and cruising waves with better turning, 1750.

Thanks for the advice, I finally robbed the bank and bought the Armstrong performance mast and MA1750. Held off on a stab until I see how it goes with my existing selection. Hoping for more speed and glide over the HS1850/1550v2.

Just fyi, the 1550v2 with the 235 tail is a really fun upgrade compared to the 232 tail. Feels faster and also more carvy.

A few good sessions in now on the MA1750 light wind winging. Used it on a 7'6" Crusader with the also new High Performance 795 mast and a 70cm fuse. Initially with the HS232 stab but it was a bit pedestrian so I went all in with a Flow 235.
Going in 7-8kts no problem (93kg) with an 8m Duotone Ventis. The foil is slightly harder taking off than the HS1850 for example but for sure has loads more glide and I am happy with the turns, feels great rail to rail which is what I was after.
Got a long drag upwind and tried some very small swells downwind, too small really but was a great taste of how it might perform in better conditions. Went out overpowered on another session and the foil was great easy to use.
Will try it with my go to 60cm fuse soon.

The mast and Flow235 also work well with my HS1550v2 (one blue shim) so its all good, as long as I don't look at the bank account Hahahaha
