I had my first go on my new 100 mast today was quite surprised how much stiffer it is compared to my 85 I noticed that the carbon construction is different from the others as it built from the same carbon as the wings as the others have the finer carbon weave is this a new construction or have they used that carbon in all there 100 mast ?
Also far as feel we sailed in quite choppy seas and the extra depth the foil was noticeably smoother avoiding the surface turbulence
Far as surfing waves unless there big I gather you could possibly be under the lift band of the wave
I would like to hear anybody else's experience with this mast
I am only winging on it
Thanks

Construction wise I have no idea.
I have 72 and 100. Can't say I feel a stiffness difference between them. I love the 100 on the wing. Just so much extra error correction time. Also works great for loading up and boosting. I ride in extremely choppy wind swell conditions and this mast makes it easy. The pain is launching as you need to get deeper but I found with my new 70L board I've got to get about nipple deep. I basically never over foil using this mast which is the reason I purchased. It surfs just as good as the 72. You do need to get used to all the extra leverage but when you do it feels great.

In the video below I'm riding 1250/100/50/212/0

Great to see you are enjoying your 100 mast Foilthegreats
It looks like wingers with 100 mast are far and few I was looking at there website today and even there write up dosn't say anything about the different carbon used in the construction from the shorter mast and even the pics on there website show the 100 mast has the carbon used in there shorter mast
I thought I would show a pic of what I mean
So I don't know if this is new production or a prototype. It was retail price in the shop

Looks like 12k weave instead of 3k which is supposed to be the strongest

No one but the manufacturer would have a clue of what's in there. Most manufacturers use a "pretty" weave as an external layer cause buyers think it's cool. Inside they would have a combination of plain, UD, Biax or else, placed in strategic areas where stifness of flex needs to be achieved. Externally they'll pretty much all use a twill or a spread tow cause they look prettier...

At the end of the day it doesn't matter as long as it delivers what the user expects.

The 100 is the best stroppo!

I never noticed the difference in finish but find pics just take of the 72 VS 100.
