Just curious if anything is buzzing. I've been reading about NoLimitz Masts and its got me wondering if other brands, Armstrong in particular, have anything brewing for 2023.
As things currently stand, I know its possible to get a custom fuselage for the NoLimitz, but its a spendy option.
You can also get a cedrus mast with a custom fuse.
From what I've heard, the current generation mast had a quiet release of a stiffer version. People just don't know it.

Thanks! That's interesting. I don't find the current mast I have to be significantly problematic, but there are definitely times when it feels like it twists in a way that has caused random cavitation (mostly on the exit from a turn in rough water).
Well if there's any hope, fingers crossed for next week at the ANSI Show in Hood River. If Oskar Foil is headed out there, just be for a reason!
I'm pretty happy with the masts at 65kgs, but I will be keen to test out a stiffer version if one comes out.

Ah, that's interesting. I bought mine in May from Real. I do wonder if it's from the latest batches. I seem to have no problem with stiffness. That said, Iike my Axis High Mod more of course.
I just received a brand new A+ 85cm mast and it "feels" heavier than my my previous non-A+ mast. Wish I'd weighed my old 85 to compare. I'll be very curious to see if it rides differently. Glad to hear the Performance masts are coming!
I think the release of the ~93cm mast is meant for DW market-hoping for an 85cm version. I presume that pricing will be similar to the other Kiwi's high modulus mast.

Oskar's WR surf foil was on the new stiffer mast in an 85cm size.

Fantastic. 82kg here. I sold my 1325 since it was way too unstable on my A+ 85 mast. I played around with it for two months or so (different mast positions, tails, shims) but no luck. hoping that the new mast is the ticket.
I actually have an HS1850 on my A+ 85cm mast... but I might end up selling that wing and get an HS1550 V2 for random days. I can get up just fine on my Axis HPS980 in 10 knots with gusts not even over 13-15 knots with a 6.0 wing, on an 85L board, so I don't see myself using such a big foil anymore. I wanted to keep it to teach my wife and my daughters, but they are much lighter than me, so quite possibly the 1550 V2 would do that just fine.

I had the 1550V2 and the stability of the mast was totally ok. There's a different thread here about using smaller foils. I highly suggest trying sub-1000cm2 foils for light wind-game changer. I'd go for the CFV2s for newbies. I've been teaching my girlfriend on the 1200v2. Fantastic stability.

I have a V1 of the Armstrong mast that was converted to A+ and now use the 725 and 525 exclusively. For the most part, it works really well, but once in a while I have a random cavitation that is different from foiling out, going through white water, or over shallows. It feels like my foil twisted out of alignment with the board. It used to cause instant wipe out, but I've gotten better at correcting. It's nothing that would cause me to abandon my Armstrong gear, but it suggests there is still room for improvement with the mast.
My interest for asking about updated masts is about finding more ways to increase overall gear performance (NoLimitz narrow profile and stiffness as an example). If Armstrongs new masts are going that direction, I'll definitely be interested.

I can imagine. At only 65kgs,the 1325 was a major handful last time I took it on a bigger DW run. I figured I'd go larger on the foil size to focus on depowered riding, but I definitely ended up using the wing as a crutch more than I'd hoped. In more tame conditions (knee high or less) is manageable at my weight.

Definitely looking forward to the new masts! I have a friend in Washington state who uses the NoLimitz mast with Stringfellow fuse and Armstrong HA foils. He loves it. It's a solution for the impatient I suppose. hopefully my patience will be rewarded.

A+85 is about 300 g heavier than original 85 . I mainly prone up to 1125 @ 82kg and A+85 is totally fine for me , I never feel any flex. It's stiffer than my old 72 non A+ mast which I did feel flex in ,but not much and it wasn't bad flex.
Went back to riding 72 a+ with 1850 after riding go foil for a few months and the flex was obvious to me at 96 kg.
Keeping Armstrong stuff for Mrs and kid both around 50 kg. Gofoil is way more stable and predictable for me at my weight.
I watched video from Delta foil designer who gave clear explanations of the dimensions for stiffness and how to test on beach. Looks like the Armstrong flex us in massive yaw.
